While Eminem has revealed levels of depth far beyond his Slim Shady persona, few could have anticipated "Mosh," the second single from his 2004 release, ENCORE. This song, by one of music's most controversial artists, features Em focusing his rage like never before, ultimately calling on the youth of America to rise up?and vote. While his brilliantly scathing tirade against President George W. Bush didn't lead to the politician's defeat, it certainly captured the country's attention and attempted to raise listeners' political awareness. It also effectively increased the already-huge stature of the expectation-defying Detroit rapper only a few weeks before his highly anticipated fourth record's release.

ENCORE is far from a letdown, as Eminem's twisted mind continues to produce razor-sharp rhymes, whether examining the world (the aforementioned "Mosh"), venting his spleen ("Puke"), exploring his soul ("Like Toy Soldiers") or just being plain silly ("My 1st Single"). While Em's inclination towards the shocking is well documented, other than "Mosh," the record is relatively toned-down; he even apologizes for racist comments made on a 1993 underground tape. However, that's not to imply that the proceedings are low-key; ENCORE burns with the fire of a master lyricist letting his words loose on whatever crosses his mind.

- Terrible Album
Both the dirty and clean versions are terrible. The singles on this album are more edited than the TV versions. In the "Mosh" video, they only censor the F word. On the album version, they censor words such as "strapped with an AK-47" or "ass-crack", and more, and are both played uncensored on MTV and BET. Also on Toy Soldiers, they censor "killed" and "murdered" and allow it in the video. It is the worst Eminem album ever released and should have the same edited versions as the ones on TV

- He wants to be different
I read some reviews and I didn't like them. I heard an interview and he said that he wanted this album to be different. He also wants to deliver messages in his songs and I know what these messages are. I have ALL of the edited versions of his CDs and this is the best edited for people who listen to it. His past 2 albums edited are great, and the first 2 weren't even edited AT ALL, just a little bit. He's matured and doesn't want to be as bad as he used to, and isn't that vulgar anymore. This album is 4x platinum people. Most artists can't do that. My favorite song on this album is "Like Toy Soldiers," a message song. If you want to learn what the message is to that and other songs, BUY THE CD!!!!! I'm not telling you the message. Songs like "Just Lose It," and "Rain Man," are funny songs. Another message songs is "Mosh." "Mockingbird," was for his daughter and niece. If you want to learn about his childhood and his younger years, listen to "Evil Deeds," and "Yellow Brick Road." THAT'S MY MESSAGE! BUY THIS CD! IT IS AWESOME! I LOVE IT AND YOU WILL TOO!
- Editing is good!!
I brought the edited and explicit version for all eminem albums; Slim Shady LP to Relapse. The editing on the clean version is not so bad even though they have a little bad editing like the song "puke" has the f word in the explicit version but is replaced by another f word in the clean version but is still bad and Annoying beeping the chorus of the song "My 1st Single". Word replacements I don't mind but so far the album is OK.

- Not a great followup
I was very disappointed by this CD. I so much enjoyed its predecessor that I had high hopes for this one. Hopes that were soundly dashed. There are few memorable tracks on this one, and it really sounds a lot like just more of the same. He has wicked talent. Don't know what happened to it this time though.
