Shyne believes that his Game diss track ‘Bury Judas’ was on the same level as 2Pac’s “Hit Em Up,” Jay-Z’s “Takeover,” and Nas’ “Ether” diss track.
Over the past few months former Bad Boy rapper Shyne and west coast rap veteran Game have been going back and forth in interviews, on Twitter, and of course a few different diss tracks.
It all started when Shyne called Kendrick Lamar’s studio debut album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. City’ “trash,” which caused Game to stand up for Kendrick, eventually calling Shyne “trash.”
The two continued to go back and forth over the ensuing months before Shyne released his track ‘Bury Judas‘ taking shots at Game, and now Shyne believes that his “Bury Judas” single is on the same level as some of the best diss tracks in hip hop history including 2Pac’s “Hit Em Up,” Jay-Z’s “Takeover,” and Nas’ “Ether.”
“‘Bury Judas’ is just really me documenting, if you will, the influence that I’ve had on this character,” he said. “I think ‘Bury Judas’ is on the level of ‘Ether,’ is on the level of ‘Takeover,’ is on the level of 2Pac, ‘Hit ‘Em Up.’ I think it was a very honest, powerful record.”
Shyne continued on the discussion of Game’s recently releaesed ‘Jesus Piece’ album. “This kid has an album called Jesus Piece. This is what happened. Judas was a very duplicitous, fork-tongued guy. I don’t think he’s Jesus. I think he’s Judas. Because Jesus was a rabbi, married with kids. We don’t need to get into all that, but Judas was a traitor, Judas was a self-serving traitor that was only concerned with preserving himself at all costs.”
