Personnel: Z-Ro; Juvenile, Paul Wall , Ashanti , Trae, Lil' Flip, Devin The Dude, Lil' Boss.

Incredibly prolific Houston rapper Z-Ro opens his 2005 release, LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD, by paying homage to one of hip-hop's all-time classics, Eric B. & Rakim's "Paid in Full," musing over the familiar bassline (from Dennis Edwards's "Don't Look Any Further") before launching into a breathless freestyle bout. While it's fairly audacious to conjure up comparisons to a master MC like the illustrious Rakim, Z-Ro holds his own on "Mo City Don (Freestyle)" with a cleverly unfurling rhyme. He follows that light and playful rap with the utterly hard "The Mule," featuring Juvenile and Devin the Dude, which is full of bluster and violent braggadocio.

This sort of variety marks LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD, a wonderfully dynamic record that finds the under-the-radar rapper continuing to do what he does best, in both viciously dark and easy-going manners. On "Platinum," Z-Ro raps about the softer and harder sides of the business over a lush backing track, while on "I'm a Soldier" he reverts to edgy posturing with sufficient force. Although Z-Ro churns out records, he puts his heart into each one, and LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD stands as prime example of his skill.

- Z-ro is a hot Houston Cat so get the album if you recognize real
Look this cd is tight. This cat isn't like Paul Wall, who raps about having diamonds in his bookers or chain so long kids can jump rope with it. Yall stop buying rap that is garbage and pick up a real cd and support real rappers. Yall listen to too much commerical stuff and think most of it is hip hop. It is hip not so if you are real then you recognize real. If you are not then keep buying the Dike Jones, Paul Wall, and Cowboy Troy or whatever that cat name is. If a rapper has to be wack to have people support his album then I might come out with as a rapper knowing that people like yall who don't know hip hop would make me rich. I would be rapping about having gold toliet seats and carrots like Bugs Bunny. Well, anyways yall get the picture this cat is real so listen to the cd it is tight.

- z-ro is da best and you know this!!!
z-ro is hot like fire... his name rings like bells down here in texas... if you know real than you should know the music of z-ro. this cat is talented and speaks da truth! I LOVE Z-RO TO DEATH AND WOULD BUY ANYTHING HE APPEARS ON!!! he dont rap about how much bling he got like some artists brag about constantly... he speaks about life and the things you go through with family and friends. my opinion is that he is the best rapper alive and thats what i mean and what i say and how i feel.. this cd goes hard just like the rest of the cds he got out!!! i promise you , you will not regret buying this or any other cds cause he spits out nothing but real talk!!!

- H-Town's Anthem
At first, I thought Z-Ro was whack, but my nigg@z told me the he was the best rapper in H-Town close to Face. Z-Ro totally surpasses Slim, Flip, Mike Jones Who? (whack @ss). Z-Ro probably will go platinum with this album, only if it survives all those bootleggers out there. GO BUY THIS ALBUM!!! STOP BEING CHEAP!!!

- We needed this back in HTOWN
I want to see TI try to go head to head with ZRO. This has been long overdo. Honestly I think he could have came harder, but I understand he's nationwide and cannot keep it straight Houston. I love all 17 tracks, hooks, and cameo spots. Im sorry I do have a BIAS I am from Houston as well as the south side of HTOWN and Im just happy we got more national recogniton. Now Scarface can gone go behind the scenes and search out more talent.
