Ying Yang Twins Album: “Chemically Imbalanced [PA]”
Description :
Ying Yang Twins: D-Roc, Kaine. <p>After getting a taste of mainstream success, as have the Atlanta duo Ying Yang Twins, many hip-hop acts are faced with a dilemma: how to please their original fanbase while at the same time expanding their appeal. On their fifth studio release, CHEMICALLY IMBALANCED, the Twins have come up with a compromise. As Mr. Collipark explains on the intro, the first half of the album is "for the diehard Ying Yang Twins fans," while the second half, influenced by East Coast producers Wyclef and Jerry Wonder, is "a little different, somethin' a little more musical for y'all." Kaine and D-Roc still bring it with nasty, booty-shakin' rhymes over the signature neck-snapping crunk beats, and their Patron-sippin' club musings-- "Watcha call big booty girls in line?/The march of dimes, the march of dimes"--are as infectious as ever. At the same time, slower smoothed-out tracks like "Take It Slow" and "Family," as well as undeniably catchy bounce beats like "Dangerous," present listeners with a new, more radio-friendly sound.

- Ying Yang Garbage

Aviod this CD. What happened to Ying Yang Twins? This is a CD that belongs in the garbage rather than the CD player.

- Great Party Album

I'll make this short and sweet. If you like the Ying Yang Twins you will love this album. It has a different feel but it is still 100% Ying Yang. The various producers bring a fresh vibe to the proceedings. In a year that has been suprisingly hit and miss for Hip-Hop this set is one of the hits.

- Get the party started

If there is one thing I can count on, it's that the Ying Yang twins will ALWAYS have the enthusiasm and drive to keep a party going. When I want folks to dance, I know what to play, and somewhere along the line, it's going to involve a Ying Yang twins song. People who NEVER dance will get up for one of their songs. This album was no different with a bunch of dance music songs that could get you on the floor. They did try a romantic song, that I could NOT take seriously. I'm sorry, but it was just too weird considering the rest of their songs are so crazy. BUT, I was very pleased to hear Wyclef add his soul to the latter half of the album. Putting Wyclef on an album is a compliment to any work. Although the lyrics weren't remotely thought-provoking and there was no stand-out song, the album was pretty cool.

- exlax in my stomach

Oh there definitley is a balance with the chemistry that is going on in this album. It is the chemistry of a WHOLE box of exlax mixing with my digestive system and the aftermath that arrives in my toilet. This is what occurs when I listen to the lyrics of the ying yang twins. The beats are hot, don't get me wrong. But a song is incomplete when it doesn't have any good lyrics to go with that beat. So that makes an album of incomplete songs because every bar that dribbles off the crusty lips of the ying wack twins are no better than a bar my son can spit. Buy an instrumental of this album and avoid making your eardrums hurt by hearing the lyrics.
