<p>For the uninitiated Xzibit is the dysfunctional member of the Likwit crew, comprised of Tha Alkaholiks, Rass Kass, and Safir. And for those who slept, he is also one of the rawest rappers out there. 40 DAYZ AND 40 NIGHTZ is a testament to this mc's lyrical prowess. Aided on the production tip by Sir Jinx (who produced some of Ice Cube's earlier joints) and Butta (Westside Connection's "Bow Down"), this is one of the best summer albums of 1998.

- The X-Man Wolverine 1 swing to make the cut clean!
Mr. X to the Z comes back in full affect again on his 2nd LP "40 Dayz & 40 Nightz". There's no sophomore jinx here. This album is just as good if not slightly better than his classic debut "At The Speed of Life" (personally I like this slightly better than his debut) On this album X continues his lyrical assault on the mic over top notch beats covering the same ground as his debut, rhymes about the streets, fake mcs, weed/drugs, women, life's ups & downs, & battle rhymes. Unlike his debut, this album only boasts of 1 single which is "What U See Is What U Get" which is 1 of the greatest hip hop songs of all time & the video makes it even better. Also on this album Xzibit keeps his guest appearances to a minimum on this album as with his debut consisting of Ras Kass, Saafir, Method Man, Jayo Felony, & Of course the Likwit Crew. Xzibit is 1 west coast mc that proves that mcs not from NY or east coast also have lyrical skills. Every song on this album is great with the exception of P%$*y pop feat Meth & Jayo, that song could have been left off & replaced with The song he did in 97 with Ras called "Game Face". Despite that though this album is classic. Standout tracks: Chamber Music, 3 Card Molly, What U See Is What U Get, Los Angeles Times, Recycled Assassins, Focus, Handle Ur Bizness, & Deeper. Also check out "Shroomz" a funny track about X trying shroomz for the first time & having a weird experience ending is hilarious LOL. If you're a fan of real hip hop I highly suggest this slept on album from an underrated mc & remember "Never under estimate the power of the X-man".

- One of the most underrated M. C.s out there today.
The X-man really impressed me with his debut single "Papparatzi" and the mellow, but deep follow up "Foundation." This album is really well put together in terms of melody and production. The Golden State Warrior immediately gets your head jerking with the first track "Chamber Music". Xzibit then teams up with fellow Californians Ras Kass and Saafir on the banging "3 Card Molly." Your attention is kept then on "What you see is what you get"," Handle your Business", and the Quincy Jones sample laced "Nobody Sound Like Me."Hip hop heads should know where he got the exercpts for the hook from." From there the album drifts off with "Pussy Pop (featuring Meth and Jay-O felony)" and "Shroomz." After that you will adjust your volume with the slick, up-tempo sounds of "Focus", the thought-provoking "Deeper",and the bass kicking sound of "Los Angeles Times." In addition, X gets some dope assistance from the Alkoholiks and King T on "Let it Rain." Lastly, the LP is finished off nicely with "Inside Job", and "Recycled Assassins".

- xzibits album is mad hot listen to recycled assasins
the source gotta open their eyes to this site and take notes. stop givin Mase and all them feather weight lyricists xzibit's, raskass's and black star's hard earned mics. 40 Dayz and 40 Nightz ain't perfect but it's worth your 12 bux and then sum.
- Could have been better
I was a bit disappointed with this CD.....i thought the beats could have been better and also the lyrics from some of tha songs, but no doubt, im satisfied with tha purchase and whenever he comes out with anotha, i would buy it.

- Xzibit goes from underground to mainstream.
In my opinion Xzibit is one of the more talented lyricists. He combines intensity with creativity to give his listeners a piece of his life in every verse. I like Xzibit's sound and I'm glad he represents the WESTCOAST.
