<p>Atlanta native DJ Unk is part of the ATL-based crew known as Big Oomp, which features Montay, DJ Jelly, and DJ Assault. On his debut release, BEAT'N DOWN YO BLOCK, Unk follows the lead of fellow dirty South natives like Young Jeezy, Yung Joc, and T.I., with hard thumping beats and a rowdy "tear-up-the-club" style, hoping to emulate their crossover success. - CD
My son Loves this CD. Although the lyrics seems to be "basic", the most favorite song on this CD is Walk it out.

- More garbage from the south.
"Walk it out" is up there with other terrible tracks such as "laffy taffy" and "lean wit it rock wit it". Music like this makes me want to hug my real hip hop CDs from Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Pac, and Wu Tang. This is a joke. Some southern music has a nice beat to it, but just has mediocre lyrics. This, is awful. The lyrics make me want to pull my hair out, and the beat it just decent. This is another no-talent loser trying to make a quick buck. Please, for the love of Hip Hop, DO NOT BUY THIS CD. Go pick up the new Nas CD, or the new Ludacris cd. Luda remains to be the only superb rapper from the south. TI is in second. Everyone else is a disgrace to this country. If we dont kill the "crunk", then "Hip Hop is Dead".

- It's not bad, I gave it 4 stars for encouragement it actually deserves a three.
This album is okay, it's great for parties, for gettin' jiggy with it. It's actually one of the less annoying cds in it's branch and Unk is doing it big representing the OC (Oomp Camp) to the fullest. I've had this for 2 years and I listen to it about 3 times a year (sometimes less). It has great bass, it's fun music. The biggest problems this album has are : 1-the fillers. Way too many wastes of sound on this one. 2-Alot of the choruses are generic, offensive & downright stupid. 3-the features, only featuring I was feeling was DG Yola (The best song on the album "Don't Make Us" great remix of a great movie score SAW) 4-Subject matter, why would you put a song like Thinkin' Of You on here & Smokin' Sticky? first off thinkin of you is an okay song but ruins the party vibe of the cd & smokin sticky, I mean in most clubs you can't even smoke and when people want to hear a party album I don't think they intend to sit on a couch & smoke "Kush". This is great for partying and I would let this play a thousand times before Flo-Rida or Soulja Boy or Gucci Mane or (new) Young Jeezy for that matter.

My students like this music so I had to check it out. It had the promised "walk it out" and 3 others that I really enjoyed. I'm new to the music and I bet after more time I'd like it all. Good album, clean version which I like, thanks for expanding my listening.
