Twiztid Album: “Mutant (Vol. 2) [PA]”

Twiztid Album: “Mutant (Vol. 2) [PA]”
Description :
Includes a bonus DVD.
Personnel: Jaime Madrox, Mufuckin' Rich (vocals); Fritz The Cat (guitar, drums); Deff Jeff Shankn (drums).
The companion album to MAN'S MYTH (VOL. 1), which was released a month earlier, MUTANT (VOL. 2) is conceptually connected to its twin: the idea is that the first album is about the cultural influences that shape a person, and the second is about the warped result. The fact is that MUTANT (VOL. 2) is by far the better album; in fact, it's the best album of Twiztid's career, and the one on which the duo finally steps out from the shadow of their mentors the Insane Clown Posse. In fact, the sound of this album is far closer to Eminem's side of the Detroit hip-hop axis, specifically the cartoonish but musically fierce live-instruments-plus-samples sound of the best D12 tracks. The album's masterstrokes are the infernally catchy "Stardust," by some measure the best song the duo have yet managed (it contains a sing-songy chant that would have sounded right at home on Eminem's own ENCORE), and the spooky ambiance of the opening "Transformation of a New Civilization."

- After Man's Myth, such a disapointment

Nothing like any album I've ever listened to before. Lots of noise. Nothing like Man's Myth at all, and not only because it was supposed to be rock, but because its crap. Sounds like they put it together in one hour, stamped the disc and sold it.

- 4.5 STARS

Really good album, very different for Twiztid though. Quite alot of the songs on this album have heavy metal in them, which they have done before (Darkness, Bobbys Dad, We Don't Die etc.), but they've never done it this much though. At first it took a while to get used to all the heavy metal, but once i got used to it, i loved it. Highly recommended, even if you don't particularly like all heavy metal (like me), this is good music.

- Twiztid cannot be stopped

I've been down with the Clown since '97. I've loved Twiztid ever since Mostasteless dropped in '98. I've seen them live countless times and I am a super Juggalo ninja killa 4 life MFacko! I have to say that I thought Myth (Vol. 1) was a decent album. But this one right here, Mutant (Vol. 2), is just so dope I cannot even describe how jammin' it is. I always have and always will love both rap and rock music. I think this is a great direction for Jamie and Paul and it rounds out the double album experience quite nicely. Listen to both cd's back to back and tell me that these aren't psychopathic masterpieces. You can't! Because they are! If you're a long time Juggalo like myself you'll love this cd. If not, then why are you reading this??? I never write reviews on this website, but after listening to this cd I felt it was my duty to tell the world how fresh it is. PEACE.
