Twiztid Album: “Cryptic Collection 3 [PA]”
Description :
Twiztid: Jaime Madrox, Monoxide Child. <p>The most successful Insane Clown Posse offshoot in the ever-expanding Juggalo universe, Twiztid generally traffics in the same brand of high-concept/lowbrow rap-rock as its Psychopathic Records brethren. Despite being attired in their usual KISS-like greasepaint and colorful outfits, on CRYPTIC COLLECTION 3, Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child deliver an unusually straight-ahead hip-hop record. The raging metal guitars that characterize many related releases are virtually nowhere to be found, replaced instead by spare, old-school beats and squiggly synths that wouldn't sound out of place on a Snoop Dogg album. In addition, there is a surprising amount of introspection here, particularly on "Keep It Movin," which amounts to something approximating a gangsta-rap version of a self-help affirmation session. Perhaps the most intriguing moment, however, is the shocking anti-climax of Twiztid's totally straightforward take on Steve Miller's chestnut "The Joker." While not quite a serious bid for mainstream hip-hop credibility, CC3 reveals that Twiztid has more than enough skills to transcend the often one-dimensional Psychopathic aesthetic.

- NO STOPPING THE HATCHET!!!!

Twiztid is the reason I listen to Psychopathic in the first place and Cryptic Collection 3 proves it. It blows the first 2 out of the water and I wanna see Twiztid try to top this one. Remixes include "4 Those of You" from Mirror Mirror, "2nd Hand Smoke" from Mostasteless (the one track on the album I'm not really feeling), "I'm The Only One" from The Green Book, which is called "She Said" on CC3 and is much better than the original (my favorite)and "Wrong With Me", the rest are brand new tracks with appearances by ICP, Blaze & ABK plus the track "Shock & Awe" which is done by Dark Lotus. Add a remake of an old 70's song which is entitled "Joker" and a hidden but hilarious track of Jamie and Paul talking and you got the best Cryptic Collection ever to graced the underground. If you a Juggalo/Juggalette or a hardcore hip-hop/horrorcore fan...BUY THIS CD!!!! MCL! Im Out!

My Favorite Tracks include: Static, Keep It Movin, Listen, She Said Remix & Know Good

- Twiztid

Not a very good release. Worst of the Cryptic Collections for sure. To bad the og version of Wrong With Me didn't make it. Twiztid needs to invest in some better beats and production. The Joker is kinda cool but gets old quick. Two stars because 2nd Hand Smoke is on it but seems like that's on every Twiztid special release.

- My Favorite Cryptic Collection Yet

Id say this is the best Twiztid CC yet. I definatly like it better than the first two, although those are great as well. This one just seems to have a more ecclectic mix of music on it than the others. My favorite songs would have to be the awesome cover of Steve Miller's "The Joker", Shock and Awe (a new Lotus track), and Fucmyself. There's also a couple things hidden at the end with Mono and Madrox talkin, but it's not that great. My only complaint is most of the remixes arnt that great. For example, Id much rather listen to the original 2nd Hand Smoke than this one, but oh well. It's a great album none the less, and ya gotta get it to complete you Twiztid collection. Plus, its got an ad for a NEW Twiztid album called "Man, Myth & Mutant" coming out some time in 2005!!!
