Hip-hop artists have been claiming to be "thugged out" for years, but Trick Daddy gives true meaning to the phrase. Everything about him is thuggish, from his clothes to his way of life, so the title of his third album THUGS R US comes as no surprise.

He further explains his persona on the radio-friendly "I'm a Thug." Obvious hit material, the song features a children's choir on the chorus that's reminiscent of Jay-Z's "Hard Knock Life." The Miami native doesn't forget his roots, with the booty-shaking track "Take It to Da House." Trick Daddy's slurred speech, which he defines as his ghetto slang, is his signature. It makes THUGS R US a one of a kind album.

Some others one are good as well. If' you're a TDD fan, make sure you pick up the album. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: - BASICALLY A SLIP AND SLIDE COMPILATION Trick daddy dollars brings the hotness on this joint. But by the end of the cd you cant help but realize Trick took a back seat to his crew....its all good though cause most of them are dope in their own way.. i was just a little disappointed with the lack of trick daddy vocals.. his last 3 albums have been consistent...the production on this joint is hot.....overall i think its about a 4 1/2....add a little more of the MIA's main man and youd have a five........overall dope...best cut-Im a thug and pull over remix.....cop all of tricks albums... 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: - IT'S AN OK RAP CD AGAIN, THIS IS JUST AN AVERAGE CD. BUT, THAT DOESN'T STOP IT FROM HAVING SOME GOOD TRACKS ON IT. THE BEST SONGS ARE ''I'M A THUG'', ''N WORD'', ''SOMEBODY SHOULDA TOLD YA'', AND ''WHERE U FROM''. NOT THE GREATEST TRICK DADDY CD, BUT IT'S WORTH A LISTEN. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: - Not the greatest I have all four Trick Daddy CD's and this one didn't meet up to my expectations for Trick. He usually lays it down fierce but some of the problems with this CD is that his back ground beats aren't all that tight, and he's got some no name artist on there who can't really rap. Trick makes up for it with his flows cuz he does have some tight lyrics. Three songs of the CD you can get from some where else so theres really not that many songs. On the up beat, if you have subs this CD does bump and there are a couple songs that are phat. If you just really like Trick Daddy, then swoop it up. If your a first time listener, I'd swoop up Book Of Thugs instead of Thugs are Us. Personally I fell into the hype and was a little disappointed when I got the CD. - Thugs R Us - Thanks for sending the correct CD. You r the best! Thanks for sending the CD in such a timely manner plus the correct CD .. U Rock!!! |
