First off i've been a 3-6 mafia fan since smocced out locced out dropped waaay bak in the day. When I first heard this CD was dropping I was sceptical because there wasn't any Lord Infamous on the cd. But honestly. 3-6 Came hard as hell on this cd. I didn't think it'd feel like a complete album with out Lord but I didn't even miss em on it. Crunchy Black really shines throughout the album and you know Juicy and Paul always come tight. I liked this cd so much I baught the dual disc and the regular version. This is the best Hypnotize Minds release since Tear Da Club Up Thugs.
As far as the DVD goes it's a nice touch and add's more to the album. It's got 2 video's the smash hit "Stay Fly" and the unedited version of "side 2 side" it also features some interviews with DJ Paul,Juicy J and Crunch Black. There's a few things I learned watching the dvd that I didn't know before. Anways you need to swoop this. . .
this disc aint even on the level of the other cds. the dvd side got juicy j and dj paul talkin about they come up a trip to the mall with Young Buck and a ride to see where 8ball and MJG get they whips cleaned. it got the stay fly video and the side 2 side uncut video too. the live performance of stay fly was some bunk though. its some good stuff on this music side too. It aight though. get that real deal Triple 6 murda music from they other cds though.
This isn't their best work, but it's still good for gettin' hype to. You already know that Three Six Mafia won't stray too far from their usual formula, but you also know that they're going to bring that Memphis styled crunk to your chest every time they drop an album. In terms of sound, this album is more Da Unbreakables than it is Mystic Stylez. "Stay High" feat. Young Buck and Eightball & MJG is probably the best song on the album. There are still plenty of bangin' tracks on this album to get crunk to though.
If there's a flaw here, it's the limited range of subject matter. You know that Three 6 is going to talk about the SAME EXACT THING on every album. It'd be nice if they changed speeds every once in a while, but changing up isn't what got them where they are. Oh well.
Most Known Unknowns is definitely worth checking out if you're into that good old fashioned Memphis crunk that only DJ Paul and Juicy J can bring. Their sound may be repetitive, but it's truly unique. As long as they have their cult following and remain in their niche, they'll be around for another 10 years. If you're a true fan, then you should enjoy this. Unfamiliars should probably check out some of their older stuff first. It's not their strongest work, but it's still worth looking into.
