Carlos Coy--South Park Mexican--is a hardcore Chicano rapper from Houston who was serving a 45-year prison sentence when this 2006 album was released, watching it land at #46 on the Billboard charts. It features grisly rhymes about the gangsta lifestyle and Latino street culture, as well as hazy odes to his true love, Mary Jane (and he's not talking about a lady here), played out over woozy H-Town production.
This CD easily became one of My current favorites. His music is moving and his lyrics actually have a message and purpose unlike most of the crap being sold today as real rap music! If you don't own this CD yet I'd highly suggest that you buy it!
