The job of putting background beatscapes to the Spike TV martial arts anime miniseries AFRO SAMURAI, which stars the voice of Hollywood badazz Samuel L. Jackson, is a project worthy of one man alone. And as expected, the abbot of the Wu-Tang Clan rises to the occasion, laying down a slew of characteristically moody yet epic instrumental tracks, along with a share of blazing vocal cuts. The list of diverse MCs includes Q-Tip, Free Murder, the GZA, and Talib Kweli, as well as a line-up of peripheral Wu affiliates such as the Black Knights, True Master, 60 Second Assassin, and Suga Bang. Perhaps the hottest track comes courtesy of Big Daddy Kane who flips some of his classic lines from the Juice Crew era into a memorable hook on the inspired cut, "Cameo Afro." RZA's love of kung-fu movies, hard boom-bap beats, and cinematic sonic landscapes is the main attraction, though, and it works perfectly to evoke the show's brilliant combination of surrealist narrative and martial-arts action.

The afro Samurai sound track is great from start to finish like the television series total mayhem and i mean that in a good whay. From the diversaty in the beats to the perfect insane mixing by the RZA like only he can do which is very interesting about him when he does soundtracks he clearly take it to another level. One thing is certain with his beats and mixing he is second to none he clearly show's everyone he's an absolute BEAST!! pick this up and every other soundtrack the RZA does.
- Awesome
1 word.....Amazing RZA but it down!!! the true soundtrack to AFRO SAMURAI!!!! I just wish that they would have more seasons of Afro with that more soundtracks
- afro samurai
i love this sound track. the whole sound track is great from start to finish. it's a great buy for any anime fan.
- RZA Samurai
Afro Samurai soundtrack is pretty good. Plus it's nice to hear the Rza churning out some extra quality beats. So if you can't choose the sword, choose Afro Samurai.
- great unison
i like the mix they did with mixing westerner mus with jap its was greatly done. how ever i think it is a little to over rated. there where way to many short instrumental and few vocal songs. some where a little odd...and ppl seem to think that samurai is koool.... like gangster kool...wish i don't think so... more like anime kool.... anyways theres at list 5 great songs and the rest are slightly above average. i give it a 4 for being so well done and balanced. it has a little bit of everything. great cd 2 listen to with others cuz it as a little of everybody style in it. recommend 4 on the road trips
