Personnel includes: Project Pat, La Chat, Three 6 Mafia, Crunchy Black, Juicy "J", Lord Infamous, DJ Paul, Hypnotize Posse Camp, Namond Lumpkin, Edgar Fletcher.

Recorded at Hypnotize Minds Studio, Memphis, Tennessee.

As a member of the infamous Three 6 Mafia clique, Project Pat is bound to tear up the club with anything he releases. His third solo album, MISTA DON'T PLAY, is no different. While his previous solo joints received regional praise, the success that the Three 6 Mafia has recently experienced with the hit single "Sippin' on Syrup" is bound to grant him much larger exposure.

The lead-off single "Chicken Heads" is Project Pat's new claim to fame. Pat is at his best revelling in the song's pimped out story. Not that the thug anthems "Break the Law" and "We Can Get Gangsta" are missing anything, because they offer the same crunk feel as most Three 6 records. With MISTA DON'T PLAY, Project Pat delivers yet another Southern classic.

- .....Them new Jordans bout to come out
I have to admit, if I hadn't have bought Three 6 Mafia's "When The Smoke Clears....", I probably would not have bought this release from Project Pat. Three 6 Mafia really impressed me with their CD, so I decided to take a chance on another Hypnotize Minds offering. After I heard the song "Chickenhead" w/LA Chat & Three 6 Mafia, my choice was a lot easier. "Mista Don't Play: Everythang's Working" is an impressive CD from Project Pat. Anyone that liked Three 6 Mafia's "When The Smoke Clears...." will like this CD. You don't have to worry about a fast forward button at all. You can play this CD all the way through with no questions. "Break Da Law 2001" w/Three 6 Mafia is also on Funkmaster Flex's Volume 4: 60 Minutes Of Funk CD and is a nice collaboration between Project Pat and 3-6. It makes you wonder why Project Pat didn't rap on 3-6's CD. Other gems include "We Can Get Gangsta", "If You Ain't From My Hood" with DJ Paul & Juicy J, "Don't Save Her", "North North" and the surprising "Life We Live" which starts off as an r&b track and leaves you wondering if this is a mistake on this CD but quickly turns into a tight song that actually makes you think. If you like Hypnotize Minds, Three 6 Mafia, or Southern rap in general, this is a nice CD to have in your collection. Believe me, you won't be disappointed.

- Bumpin, of the chain, mane
Project comes grimmy on this one. If you liked Ghetty Green don't even think twice about buying this one its great. Paul and Juicy always lace Pat with the hottest beats, and Pats flows are just butter. His stories are vivid, and his partying and smoking songs are great back drops for a night of optis and syrup. It puzzles me how he comes up with some of his lyrics, the man is amazing and one of my favorites of all time. He frequently changes his flow too, speeding it up and slowing it down, its brillant. If you got a system buy this fo sure. Chicken Heads, Cheese and Dope, Don't Save Her, So High,Ski Mask, and We Aint Scared Hoe are some of my favorites. I love how Paul and Juicy are always changing the beats in the middle of songs too. This is one of the best down south rap releases in a long time, hyptnotize minds has done it again, pick this up fo sure mane. And if you don't, "You can duck from the teck out the Escalade".

- POP RAP will die and this will live on.
Project Pat is Layin' Da Smackdown on his 2001 release Mista Don't Play Everythangs Workin'. Project Pat has been in the rap game for a while but in 1999 he joined Hypnotize Minds and has been on fire since. He's already released a great cd called Ghetty Green and a cd that had all his old stuff from the early 90s called Murderers and Robbers and in 2002 he will release Layin' Da Smockdown. This is a solid release that includes his radio and music video hits Chickenhead and Don't Save Her. This cd has sold over 1 million copies and has earned him a spot on mainstream rap music. I have already heard the new cd because I downloaded the bootleg and it is banging. The way this cd starts out is by the hit Chickenhead featuring Three 6 Mafia and La Chat. Then goes into a skit where he is sitting on his porch drinking. Then goes into two songs that have drug references. Then you'll hit with the second single off the cd Don't Save Her which is a story about a guy who tries to save his girlfriend. The next song welcomes anybody who isn't from Memphis to come to Memphis in the song If You Ain't From My Hood You Can Get From Round Here. A few tracks later you'll with a Hypnotize Minds track Break Da Law 2001 where everyone on the Hypnotize Minds label comes raps on. Other highlights include We Can Get Gangsta and Messin' Wit Da Best. Basically, any cd produced by Dj Paul and Juicy J is a winner. This cd is groundbreaking for Hypnotize Minds and Project Pat's solo career and provides a bright light for Project Pat to one day maybe gets some play on the Pop-Rap station MTV where real Gangsta Rap doesn't get play from anyone besides Snoop Dogg. Buy this cd and you will not be wasting money and time listening to this classic.
