In 2001, Petey Pablo was all over the radio with "Raise Up," which sported a memorable call to take off one's shirt and spin it around like a helicopter. Well into STILL WRITING IN MY DIARY, the proud North Carolina native emphatically crows "one-hit wonder, hell no," and the rest of his second effort backs up that statement. To this end, the relentless, dance-floor stomping "Freak-a-Leek" (featuring Lil Jon) guarantees at least a second hit.

The rest of the record reveals an artist still capable of keeping a party going, but also one who's matured greatly in the three years since his initial album. He's a brash rapper, capable of holding his own next to some of the best in the game, from Young Buck on the fierce "O It's On" to Bubba Sparxxx on the more lighthearted "Get On Dis Motorcycle" to Missy Elliott on the sensual "Break Me Off." At track 13, Pablo abruptly halts the party to expose a more contemplative side on the last four cuts, and it works. STILL WRITING IN MY DIARY unveils a more prismatic Petey Pablo, a rapper capable of both introspective songs and party anthems.

- Have an issue, here's a tissue...
Here's why I like Petey Pablo: he tries to be creative, and he is himself. That is lot more then you can say for a lot of rappers. With the exception of O' its On (which is still a hot song), Petey doesn't try to act like he is the hardest thing since Ron Jeremy discovered [adult relations] (I came up with that one). When you listen to a Petey Pablo album, you know he's having fun and he's putting his all into the album and doesn't care if people like it or not. Petey's second solo act has hot beats by lil' Jon (whose beats all sound the same but some come out hot), Timbaland, Kanye West, Mannie Fresh, and T&J productions who produced Boy's Bathroom which I'm definately feelin'. I also like how he split the cd up with the faster paced tracks in the begining and the slower, but still relatively upbeat, songs at the end. The clowns who gave the cd one star probably bearly listened to it. Actually, I guarentee the one kid never even listened to the cd but still reviewed it. If your going to say something sucks, try it to see if it actually sucks. Until then, your opinion is worthless and we all wasted our time having heard it. But, if you don't even like rap music, here is quick tip for you: don't listen to rap music, and don't waste your time writing reviews for rap cd's. It may seem difficult at first to pull yourself away from rap music if you don't like it, because then you will have nothing to whine about. But, I guarentee that if you follow my two step program, and stop listening to rap and stop crying about it in your reviews, we will all be better off. (...)

- Should've Been Stronger, But Not Terrible (3 Stars)
Though I don't agree with his approach, I'd have to say that Mikky Mouse is telling the truth. This album is typical pop rap. Though his 1st album wasn't anywhere near classic, it showed some promise. This album fails to follow through on that promise. When I heard "Freek A Leek" I assumed that Petey hadn't missed a beat........that is until I unwrapped the CD and put it in the CD player. There are a few good songs on this album, but there are some pretty bad ones on here too. Remember on his first album when Petey said that he makes hot songs without talking about rims and ice? Well apparently he suffers from amnesia because "Did You Miss Me?" feat. Baby & TQ is about....yep, you guessed it....rims and ice and the only saving grace on the song is a decent beat from Mannie Fresh. "Vibrate" was a huge mistake and I'll just leave it at that. "Part 2" sounds like the ugly, deformed, redheaded stepson of "Raise Up" from his 1st album. A lot of the beats on this album sound like generic throw away beats from an old Trick Daddy album or something. Lil Jon supplies a tight beat for "U Don't Want That", but Petey totally wasted it. Timbaland supplies a hot beat for "Get On This Motorcycle", but Petey's lyrics are wack. The song is actually saved by Bubba Sparxxx.....maybe. Petey does come back down to earth though on tracks like "Be Country" and "He Spoke To Me". They are both songs that remind us all of the promise that he displayed on his first album and offers small doses of the brilliance that he is capable of. We all know that "Freek A Leek" is a tight song and Young Buck of G Unit drops some heat on "O It's On". For every terrible song, there's a good one to make up for it. Overall, the album is average. The bad things and the good things about this album have equal impact. I'm not saying that the album is wack just because it's pop, because that's a lame reason. Pop artists can make good music (see: Outkast....and yes, they're pop). Though there are some decent tracks on this album and even though this album isn't terrible, I'd only reccomend this to the die hard Petey Pablo fans.
Standout Tracks: Freek A Leek, Get On Dis Motorcycle feat. Bubba Sparxxx, O It's On feat. Young Buck, Be Country (My Favorite), and He Spoke To Me

- WAY BETTER THAN HIS FIRST!!!!!
This album is a whole lot better than his first album. So if you liked his first album than you'll defintely like this album. He still has some pretty lame chorus's but he spits some hot verses on this album.
I think I gave his first album one star.... I hated that album, I think I liked maybe 3 songs (Raise Up, I, & Petey Pablo) I gave this album ANOTHER chance; and its a little more listenable, probably about 3 stars.
Some standout songs on this album are:
5- O its on feat Young Buck
The rest of the songs are also good but these are my favorites. One thing that you got to get used to with Petey is his choruses. Sometimes they can be weird or just straight up stupid.
Even is u didnt like his first album, give this one a listen you may be surprised.

- Review Of Petey Pablo's Still Writing In My Diary: 2nd Entry
Petey Pablo released his debut album in 2001, it was entitled Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry. Petey Pablo came back in 2004 with the release of his sophomore album entitled Still Writing In My Diary: 2nd Entry (which deserves 3.5 stars.)From the three year wait for his sophomore album Petey Pablo became more lyrically talented.
*I will rate the following tracks on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the best.*
-Part 2-Has the intro on it which kinda bumps off a star, but the verses are great, the beat is great, but the chorus lacks something. 8/10
-Did You Miss Me-Features Baby and TQ. This is an average song with an average beat. Since this track features Cash Money members it lacks lyrically. 6.5/10
-Jam Y'All-Great song. Good beat, good lyrics but chorus could've been better 8/10
-Freek-A-Leek-First single off the album. Great beat and lyrics. 10/10
-O It's On-Feat Young Buck of G-Unit. Simply one of the best tracks because of YB. 10/10
-Let's Roc-Great lyrics and beat. 9/10
-Stick 'Em Up-I love stick up songs they're the best! 10/10
-Get On Dis Motorcycle-Feat Bubba Srarxxx. Bubba drops a hot verse but he can't save the rest of the song lyrically. 7/10
-Break Me Off-Feat. Missy Elliott. Horibble track cause of Missy, she ruins every song she's on! Rated 3/10 becuase Petey Pablo has good verses and good parts in the chorus.
-Boy's Bathroom-Chorus is lame but verses are hot! 6/10
-U Don't Want Dat-Feat. Lil Jon. Hot Crunk Beat! Good lyrics by Pablo 7.5/10
-What You Know About It-I will say that this is an average track, nothing special. 7/10
-I Swear-Great Lyrics, good beat. 7.5/10
-Roll Off-One of the best tracks lyrically and one of the best beats. 10/10
-Be Country-Chorus is repeated a ton! Nice southern beat. Interludes within the song after each chorus. 8/10, cause of the beat.
-He Spoke to Me-Bridge is repeated a lot. But other than that it's a hot song! 9/10
-Vibrate-Don't like the beat or the girl in the song but it still deserves an 7/10
~SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, IF U LIKED PABLO BE4 YOU'LL LIKE HIM EVEN MO' ON THIS SOPHOMORE SET.~
