Madlib Album: “Time Out Presents The Other Side: Los Angeles”
 Description :
As far as cratediggin' goes, Madlib has established himself as one of the most skilled and reliable beat archivists out there. From his various jazz mixtapes to his funky-break MIND FUSION volumes to the BLUNTED IN THE BOMB SHELTER dub reggae compilation, Madlib has shown his taste to be impeccable, and serious beat-heads have come to fiend for his mixes. The fifth installment in Time Out's THE OTHER SIDE series finds Lib on the wheels, bringing together jazz, both experimental (Sun Ra Arkestra) and smooth (Steve Grossman), smoked-out dub tracks (Prince Jazzbo, Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace), acid-rock funk (Outlaw Blues Band), and his own indie hip-hop efforts (Quasimoto, Jaylib, Beat Konducta), among other treats. THE OTHER SIDE LOS ANGELES is yet another enlightening trip through Madlib's crates, as well as an appropriately dusted soundtrack for a tour of the City of Angles.

- Good CD, BAD DVD - I paid to watch adverts?
The DVD included with this item is just boring blatant advertising. You just watch PBW walk in and out of each shop doing mundane things and asking pointless questions to the owners/staff; but not before he makes sure you know the name of the shop and its website and street address etc.
The CD on the other hand is quite good. There were no tracks which I disliked. A great assorment of tracks from Jazz, Regae, Hip-Hop, Funk and Blues, the last track escpecially by the Freestyle Fellowship is sweet as.
I would recommend buying the soundtrack, but steer clear of the DVD unless you want to watch 60 mins of advertisments.
