Recording information: 2006.
<p>"Never scared to be different," as he puts it, Ludacris didn't need a deal to make a name for himself. He was already a homegrown star in the ATL--selling his self-produced, independent first album straight out of his trunk--before he got put on. But when he did get called up to the majors, he did it in a big way. As the first artist signed to Def Jam South, under the tutelage of Scarface, Luda effortlessly dropped hit after hit, including memorable collaborations with Nate Dogg, Pharrell, and Mystikal. Four major label LPs and a string of acting roles later, Ludacris returns with his fifth Def Jam effort, RELEASE THERAPY, which carries more than a few potential club anthems (most notably the Pharrel-produced banger "Money Maker") and asserts his spot among commercial hip-hop's top dogs. The guest-list features rap cameos from Young Jeezy, Field Mob, and Beanie Siegel, radio-friendly R&B hooks from R. Kelly, Bobby Valentine, and Mary J. Blige, and an MC's dream line-up of hitmakin' producers that includes Kanye West, Pharrell, Jermaine Dupri, and Rick Rubin.

- ~*Release Therapy*~
Luda's back with his 5 album Release Therapy also known as his last album to be released on Def Jam.This has to Luda's best album to date. The Cd starts with a great opening ~*THE WARNING*~ showing luda's lyrical ability and great production.Another good song is ~*GREW UP A SCREW UP*~ sampling the late Notorious B.I.G voice as the hook feat. Young Jeezy I felt produciton wise it could have been better It's still good but kinda not there but the the flows of ludacris and Jeezy makes the song all worth while. ~*WAR WITH GOD*~ is luda takin shot's at an unknown MC I give this songs hands down a 10/10 production goes great with the Lyrics this song is really showin luda's lyrical ability you'll deff be putting this song on repeat. Those are some of the stand out tracks if your looking for a CD with great production and excellent wordplay ~*RELEASE THERAPY*~ is a must buy.The only downfall about the CD is for a much highly anticipated CD I expected there to be more tracks. So I give *~RELEASE THERAPY*~ 9.5/10

- Amazing! Typical for Luda...
Although much different from previous albmus, Ludacris manages to bring it again. "Consistent" is not the word for it. Try "transcendental" or "elevated". Luda has taken it to the next level. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it does. Depending on your personal taste in music, you may not be interested in ever putting a song or two on repeat for an hour. But you will be personally drawn to at least five. The hood in me craves "Grew Up a Screw Up". The clubhead in me rocks "Money Maker" and "Girls Gone Wild". The Lyriclover in me jams "Ultimate Satisfaction", "Tell it Like It Is", and "War with God". The Slow Jam fan in me chills to "End of the Night" and "Woozy". The Angry Black Woman in me rides to "Slap". The OCD, entreprenuer in me needs "Mouths to Feed". The student in me learns from "Freedom of Preach". I could go on, but I'm tired of writing. The album is amazing! I bought three copies. One for work, one for the car, and one for home.

- "Luda Had A Serious Moment"
When you think of Ludacris...you think...lyrical...out spoken...and a straight fool. Luda's previous Albums have been quite entertaining. And I notice a lot of people have wrote reviews saying this is his worse album. My question is... why? Because he decided to have a serious moment. This album shows his maturity and shows that he is not afraid to have "A serious moment". Luda is still talented whether you feel this or not. The man still has a way with words. If you are a true Ludacris fan then you will purchase this and like it...Damn it!...lol
I gave this Album 4 stars because I wasn't feeling two tracks. Some of my favorites are "Grew up A Screw up", "Mouths to Feed", "End of the night"(because I love Bobby V.). "War with God" and "Do your time" to me are the best on the Album. He got Beanie Sigel, Pimp C and C-Murder(when he get out...lol) on "Do your time". Those are some of my favorite artists! Then you have some entertaining moments from Luda on "Ultimate Satisfaction" and "Slap"(one of my favorites.) Release Therapy is just what it is...Luda speaking his mind. Letting the world know he don't care what you got to say about him. He's still on top of his game. So if you're thinking about purchasing this do so...it's worth it. Especially if your into good lyrical skills...

- A MUST HAVE!
This by far is Luda best LP. The concept and lyrical content has made Luda a more mature artist. I recommend anyone to get Release Therapy and support the DTP movement.

- One Of The Year's Best CD's
Luda comes through with a potential classic here. Almost all the cuts are great. Luda shows real maturity and growth with this album. Not to be missed.
