Lloyd Banks Album: “The Hunger For More [Edited]”
Description :
Personnel include: Lloyd Banks (rap vocals); Eminem, 50 Cent, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Tony Yayo, Young Buck (rap vocals).
Recording information: The Big House, Farmington, Connecticut; Sony Studios, New York, New York; Spydadonme, New York, New York; Right Track, New York, New York.
Queens, New York-born Lloyd Banks couldn't have asked for a better stage on which to emerge. With 50 Cent's sudden ascension in 2003, his band of longtime mixtape stars, G-Unit, received a dose of national attention on the sturdy BEG FOR MERCY. The three-pronged attack of G-Unit is, as its name would imply, a collective effort, but on that record Banks repeatedly stole the show with his uncompromising, yet poetic rhymes and confident, wry delivery.
Banks makes his hotly anticipated debut with THE HUNGER FOR MORE, an album whose title sums up the tough, yet introspective artist, a ravenous rapper who devours words hungrily. The world is spinning around nonstop in Banks's brain, and there is clearly not enough time for it all to get out. However, in the course of THE HUNGER FOR MORE, he tackles everything from the simple topics of love and sex and life on the streets to problems like bad karma and getting racially profiled at the airport. His paramount ability may be his talent for taking a timeworn topic and transforming it into something fresh, as on "I Get High" (fittingly featuring 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg) and "If You So Gangsta." Banks deftly balances the hardcore, the poetic, and the melodic, and THE HUNGER FOR MORE portends great things for the rapper.

- More To Come From Lloyd Banks.

Being a huge Lloyd Banks fan i thought he could of done better on some of his beats in his songs and come up with better songs..but his lyrics are amazing, so thats why THE KID didnt get 5/5..Overall this Cd was a 4 stars fo sure..And for people who think hes garbage..hes only 21..and he is the best lyricist in rap TODAY...Only bad song on the cd was Karma, I have no clue what he was thinking with this song..Take it out and its a Bangin cd..Best songs were Playboy..Warrior..Im So Fly..Warrior Part 2..When the Chips Are Down..Southside Story..

- Hunger for More...Leaving some wanting just that...

First off i'm the biggest Lloyd Bank$ fan out there. Got Banks on my phone, a Airbrush shirt my girl got me for christmas, and and enough mixtapes to start a greatest of banks collection. Been bumping his solo hits for over a year now from Porno Star all the way to Backwards, and thats why I was expecting so much more..

But don't get me wrong the CD is great but between the kid's past work and the fact that the album leaked and I couldnt help but listenin to 10 out of 15 of the track I was hoping there would be more...Its not better than Get Rich or Die Tryin but thats not banks fault, 50 had better production and beats plus it had more tracks... Now for the breakdown

Top 5 Tracks (no order) - Ain't No Click, Warrior, Fire, Warrior 2, I'm So Fly..uhh maybe Top 7 - Work Magic, and Just Another Day ( Bonus Track )

-Karma is almost like Smile Pt. 2 for the ladies, but not as good if you ask me.

-Til The End (Produced by Eminem) reminds me of his "True Loyalty" which is a song between Niggas that stick together

-Actually I like all the tracks lyrically and hook wise, just the beats could have been better.. But make sure you cop that Special Edition cause the bonus track (Just another Day) is hot, and so is the Animated "My Buddy" Video...that mess is sick!

You did your thing Bank$, can't wait till the next one... Dont keep us waiting

- One of the best Debuts of all time.

This cd is nothing short of greatness. Lloyd Banks brings it in this cd, and he can be proud of every song except maybe "Playboy". "Aint No Click" is a great way to start it off, with the return of Tony Yayo to the group. This cd does go back a little into the guns and girls thing that we kinda know G-Unit for, but Lloyd puts in plenty about his own struggles in an artistic way. Songs like "Warrior" and "South Side Story" are a perfect example of this. Lloyd tells the world what he's all about. "Til The End" is the best song ive ever herd when it comes to friendship, and when Lloyd Banks and Nate Dogg combine in this one, its just excellent. "On Fire" of course the single of this album is great, excellent beat and great lyrics by Banks. The song with the best beat is w/o a doubt "Work Magic" Featuring Young Buck. Buck is pretty good in this song, and so is Lloyd Banks. Banks even throws in a song for the ladies, "Karma", which sounds pretty tight. Overall this cd has a little something for everyone, and Lloyd Banks is simply the best this year so far, the best from G-Unit so far, and definately a classic debut for the Mixtape artist of the year.
