Disco de LL Cool J: “Bigger and Deffer [Edited]”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Personnel includes: LL Cool J (rap vocals); Bobby "Bobcat" Erving (scratches).
Producers: LL Cool J, The L.A. Posse, Darryl Pierce, Dwayne Simon, Bobby Erving.
Recorded at Chung King House Of Metal, New York, New York.
BIGGER AND DEFFER was the album which took LL from up-and-coming artist to the mantle of both pop star and rap legend. The title track, the album' s opening mission statement was only one of BIGGER AND DEFFER's memorable hits--"I Need Love," a disarmingly gentle ballad pushed the rap genre in a new direction, contrasting the album's otherwise hard edge with "soft" keyboard track and a confessional, vulnerable lyric. "Go Cut Creator Go" blends crushing guitars and myriad other samples in what remains one of hip-hop's slickest turntable tracks. Though the requisite hometown shoutouts abound, LL extols the virtues of one of New York's less-frequented attractions in "The Bristol Motel," a sordid spot in his native Queens.

- rap review from a non rapper

A very good work-----even though i am not a fan of rap, this album is great---funny, lots of rhythum, i think it is probably one of the best albums of rap and LL is terrific!!! and this from a 56 year old classical fan.

- bigger and still Deffer

I love this album. Sure not all the songs are great, but the ones that hold up are I'm bad, Kanday, go cut kreator, the breakthrough, i need love and the do-wop. Which is more than half the album.

This record shows that LL was a force to be reckoned with.

- One of the Greatest Rap Albums Ever!

This was my very first rap album. After listening to it just once, I was hooked. His fluidity is amazing on this album. If you ask me he was way ahead of his time. I will never say anything bad about LL, his longevity and hit list is too great. There is a good amount of versatility on this album, something rap of today lacks. Not one of the songs have anything similar except rapping. His hooks are always solid. His word play is stellar. LL has always been underrated and its really a shame. If you've never bought an LL album, this is a great one to start with. If you are not familiar with this old school classic, you should do yourself a favor and get it. This is seriously one of the greatest rap albums and I think anyone who has it or hears it would agree.

- Good Rap

Not the tired, indistiguishable stuff currently out there. LL is a wordsmith, something sorely missing in today's brand of jams. An excellent album.
