<p>Lil' Wayne has been in the national spotlight since his days as the youngest member of the Dirty South's Hot Boys. On his fourth solo record, THA CARTER, Wayne is almost wholly on his own. There are no big-name guest stars (as with Petey Pablo's memorable turn on Wayne's previous album), only recurring shots from producer Mannie Fresh and Cash Money head Bryan "Baby" Williams. Lil' Wayne's easy flow speaks for itself; in a relaxed Southern manner, he waits for the rhyme to unfold before unleashing a torrent of lyrical lines, with consistent, understated beats pulling the tracks along. Not as "lil'" as his name implies, Wayne hits a peak with "This Is the Carter," a brash track that captures the essence of this potent hip-hop album.

- Great job by seller.
The seller originally sent me a remix version of this cd. When i notified them of the error they corrected the problem in an extremely fast an accurate manner. Very impressed with their customer service.

- BETTER than the regular version
Although Wayne undeniably has some mic skills, one of the things I have always disliked about his flow (and beats) is that his voice is somewhat high-pitched and he flows so fast that you easily miss some of his lyrics. Hearing the chopped and screwed version of Tha Carter definetely gave me a much better appreciation of the album and how much Wheezy has stepped his game up since he first came out. Besides, his voice just sounds better slowed down.
Plus the beats sound 100 times better. I've never been much of a Mannie Fresh fan (he produced every track on Tha Carter) mainly becuase they are just so fast, but they sound much better slowed down a bit.
Anyway... As for the content itself, this album is a major improvement for Wayne, however he still has quite a ways to go. If his verses on his albums were as hot as the ones he has been dropping on recent guest appearences for other artists (i.e. Destiny's Child, Trina, Paul Wall), his cd's would fly out of the store

- im not on drugs
i not a fan of chopped and scrwed at all well first off all, the rappers original voice sounds exactly the same as if you were to do it to any other artist, hell you can even chop and screw gwen stefani's album and it would sounds exactly the same, and if i were to screw gwen's album, is it considered a down south album?? chopped and screw might die out one day as i can see the artist doesnt sell well when they make a scrwed and chopped album.
