Disco de Lil' Flip: “Undaground Legend [PA]”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Initial pressings contained a bonus disc of remixes and screwed versions of 7 songs.
Personnel includes: Lil' Flip, Juvenile, Skip, Bizzy Bone, Lil' Ron, Big T, Seville, David Banner, C-Note, Chamillion, Young Redd, Shasta.
Producers include: W. Weston, Tommy Granville, Jr., Big Tyme, Young Sears, Joe Trax.
Houston, TX freestyle rapper Lil' Flip started his own independent label to release his debut album, which quickly became an underground success story. In due course, the young MC attracted the attention of Sony, who offered major distribution for Flip's label and this follow-up. Perhaps the most impressive thing about UNDAGROUND LEGEND is the way that Flip manages to maintain his underground, street-real flavor and uncompromising themes without ever resorting to gangsta cliches. Throughout the album, on such tracks as "What I Been Through," "I Shoulda Listened," and "Make Mama Proud," Flip proves to be an exceptionally thoughtful philosophizer whose storytelling is filled with informed perspective and sound observations. While fully laying out the realities that lead to thug life, he declares that he'd rather kill his enemies with kindness and rather rap than fight. Positivity abounds here, not the dewy-eyed, pie-in-the-sky kind, but a positivity that feels earned and quite real.

- Best rap album of 2002

This CD is some fire. The copy I got came with a boinus CD with 7 songs (3 of 'em were Screwed Up remixes) and it was so hot I didn't even bump the regular CD for todays cuz I was bumping the bonus CD. The regular CD is hott, with no wack songs on it and some surprisingly deep stuff for a guy who's famous for rapping about money, [...] and clothes.

This is truly a 5 star album.

- H-Town's Finest

Lil' Flip came out with a masterpiece, earning Master cards, and introducing U 2 chamill, making his mama proud, telling u what he's been through, and showing he aint scared. I got this when it came out and been bumpin it ever since.

We Aint Scared, has Some Verses ON FIRE("so U Can Play Superman And get Your A$$ Paralyzed, Cuz When It Comes 2 My Guns their all Supersized)until bizzy bone's verse

713, brings us info on how h-town been living.

Make Mama Proud, I Shoulda Listened, What I Been Through,

Shows us the otherside of H-Town, with a passion coming from the best in his town.

This album is better than the fix, one star above everybody elses album in H-Town, and thats saying a lot, considering their holding it down.

- Undaground Legend

This album "went platinum with one video" for a reason. This is one of my favorite southern albums of all time. This album is much better than 'U Gotta Feel Me', so if you bought that and were disapointed, I would reccomend this if you're still slightly interested in Lil' Flip.

1.What I Been Through featuring Young Redd, Lil Ron & Big T-produced by Lil Flip & Tommy Granville Jr.-5/5-Great song, one of the best tracks on the CD production and lyric wise

2.U See It featuring Chamillion-produced by Lil Flip & Young Sears-5/5-More hot southern production and some nice wordplay

3.8 Rulez featuring Shasta-produced by Lil Flip & Kenoe-5/5-The chorus is like B.I.G.'s 'Ten Crack Commandments', and while the song isn't as good as big's its still pretty damn hot

4.I Shoulda Listened featuring Seville-produced by Lil Flip & Big Tyme-5/5-Slower song, but still great

5.7-1-3-produced by Lil Flip & Mr. Mixx-5/5-My favorite track on the CD, great lyrically and the production is straight fire

6.The Way We Ball-produced by Lil Flip, Kojack & Young Sears-5/5-The only single on the album, you've probably heard it

7.Get Crunk featuring Lil Ron, Young Redd & David Banner-3/5-The oxymoron in the chorus just makes this song hard to listen to ("if that ho wont let you f*** she a ho"), but its still pretty good

8.Haters Still Mad featuring Lil Ron & Big T-produced by Lil Flip & Kenoe-4.5/5-Hot flow on this one

9.We Ain't Scared featuring Bizzy Bone-produced by Lil Flip & Kenoe-5/5-Bizzy is probably my least favorite BTNH member, but he's great on the chorus, hot song

10.Make Mama Proud-produced by Lil Flip & Tommy Granville Jr.-5/5-A lot like 'I Shoulda Listened', but a little better

11.I Can Do Dat (Remix) featuring Juvenile & Skip-produced by Lil Flip & Big Tyme-5/5-By 2nd favorite song on the album, great production, and Juve, Flip & Skip's flows are great

12.Tonight featuring Seville-produced by Lil Flip & Slugger-4/5-Another very good slower song

13.What Y'all Wanna Do featuring David Banner & C-Note-produced by Lil Flip & David Banner-4/5-Better than the other David Banner guest apperance, but not as good as Banner & Flip's 'Like A Pimp'

14.It's A Fact-produced by Lil Flip & Young Sears-4.5/5-Some of the best production on the album, and Flip is good lyrically

15.R.I.P. Screw featuring Bizzy Bone-produced by Lil Flip & Joe Trax-5/5-Better than the other Bizzy apperance, and one of the best tracks on the CD

16.Forget The Fame-produced by Lil Flip & Chop Shop Productions-4/5-Very good song to end the album

Highly reccomended for any Texas/Southern rap fans
