K'naan's "Dusty Foot Philosopher" is on that real tip. Kid grew up in a warzone and caught the last flight to Canada before the airport shut down. Since then he's been rocking the house. This Album is amazing! K'Naan is an amazing artist with an amazing story. His music portrays that and if you don't like his mix of actual Somalian Music and Hip-Hop, you have to at least respect his story and his talent. This album was recommended to me by a friend and I was pleasantly surprised. It's unlike anything I've heard in the US. The beats are catchy, but it's the lyricism that really distinguishes this artist. K'naan is on the level of Talib Kweli, The Roots and Mos Def. You won't be disappointed. |
