<p>After a myriad of battle-hungry appearances on his crew members' albums, J.R. Writer had already built a rep among hip-hop heads as one of the Harlem Diplomats' best-kept secrets. Yet another solo effort to come out of Cam'ron's DipSet empire, 2006's HISTORY IN THE MAKING follows suit with explosive production from Knoxville and the crystal-clear rhyme cadence that has become the crew's signature. With a total of 19 tracks, this CD has its share of bangers but, on the whole, HISTORY IN THE MAKING sticks to the formula with a slew of guest spots from the Diplomats (interestingly, on most joints J.R.'s flow is indistinguishable from Cam'ron's). Standout tracks include "My Life," "Back Wit It," and "Byrd Call."

- Barley 4 stars from JR
JR Writer finally releases a solo album on a major label. After alot of mixtapes he finally brings us a "real" album. Though I heard some of his songs on his mixtapes, some were good, others not so good, and the same goes for the album. Though I am not a huge fan of most of the Dipset crew (most are average, with Cam'ron being absolutely horrible), I give them all a shot and a listen, and the album is not all that bad. With 18 songs on here, you get 10 that are good, 7 are ok and 1 I skip. Guests aren't too heavy and are mostly Dip Set members, rapping on 6 songs and doing the hook on 1. Production is decent, nothing special though. Doe Boys do 5 songs, Knoxville does 3, Info, Antwan thompson, Justice League, Narcotics, Flaco the Great, Dame Grease, Nova, Pro V and Dutch beats all do 1 song. If you're a fan of the Dip Set I'd pick it up.

- History In the Making indeed
JR Writer puts out an extremely impressive debut mainstream album. He truly shows why he wears his wings. His lyricism and delvery are incredible. The beats are sizzling and there is no track that gives up. Every song is incredible. A few diplomats show up to lay down their lines, but the majority of the album is JR showing that he can rap with the best. My personal favorite is Goonies feat. Jim Jones and Hell Rell followed closely by Why Try feat. S.A.S. S.A.S. sounds eerily like Bone Thugs N Harmony on the hook on theis track. All the tracks on this album are banging placing History In the Making as one of the best albums of the year.

- Will go down in history as one of the year's greatest albums
Dipset has delivered yet another good release. I enjoyed the new albums by Cam and Juelz and J.R is most certainly a "writer". It's got good lyrics and bangin beats. I don't know if this will make my top 10 list for the year's best albums, but it certainly is good and should be picked up as soon as possible. J.R Writer is a very talented rapper that should get your supporting. Stop supporting down south garbage like D4L and Dem Franchize Boyz and get some quality hip hop.
- Great Album
When it came out in 2006 I remmeber bumping this in my car for a month. Byrd Call, Riot Pump, Thuderbirds with SAS,Grill Em, every beat is fire, his rhyme skills and metaphors are rediculous. And to top all that off, he holds his own against Cam, Hell Rell, Juelz, Paul Wall, and Lil Wayne.
