Insane Clown Posse Album: “The Wraith: Shangri-La [PA]”
Description :
Insane Clown Posse: Shaggy 2 Dope, Violent J, Mike E. Clark. <p>Includes liner notes by Violent J. <p>Detroit cartoon/shock rappers Insane Clown Posse unveil an album that is described as both a "masterpiece" and "ten years in the making." ISP function on a plane with it's own set of rules and boundaries, populated by the underground group's devotees, known endearingly as Juggalos. <p>After years of bouncing between major and indie labels, ICP continue a record of success that clearly challenges convention, be it with merchandising, comic books, self-produced movies and music. Newcomers to Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope's 'Dark Carnival' get a comprehensive tour on THE WRAITH, beginning with "Welcome To The Show." Saggy The Clown terrorizes children in "Birthday B*t*hes," while "The Unveiling" revisits the group's apocalyptic musings. THE WRAITH includes a companion DVD disc with live performance footage recorded in 2002.

- ATTENTION ALL JUGGALOS AND JUGGALETTES..........

I have been a fan of Insane Clown Posse ever since there first cd came out and this is truly the best ICP cd yet. If you are a true juggalo you should get this cd. These are the songs and time on the Wraith:Shangri-La:

Walk Into the Light(5:09)

This is truly Insane Clown Posse's best cd yet. I think that the Gathering of the Juggalo's this year is gonna be good too. I think there saying that that was there last cd for publicity and for people to buy there cd's so they could make money. When they make their next the money is gonna raise even more. Their point was to play hardcore funny music to become really popular and then at the end they told all Juggalos to get into religion. May all Juggalos find him and if your a Juggalo you'll find your way there.... Insane Clown Posse made their way to God..... you can too....

- He goes by many names but is known to the living only as Thy Wraith.

A pressence can be felt by those who have followed thy epic saga as told by thy Insane Clown Posse. It is a presence that is synonymous with thy crumbling of time itself. Thus emerges a being so powerful that he can exist between both the land of thy living, and that of the dead. He goes by many names but is known to thy living only as Thy Wraith. He walks upon worlds forgotten, and descends from Heavens; fade into gray to witness thy death of all mortal things, so that he may guide thy departed upon thy path that they have chosen. Only now will we truly understand thy meaning of thy saga, for this saga all along, each Jokers Card, is actually none other than... thy echo of our lives.

Here it is, first half of the final chapter of a long story. A real love it or hate it album. Personally, I think it's incredible. Has the most rock feel to it, even though has plenty of rapping. Unlike its counter part The Wraith: Hell's Pit which is 99% rap. The feeling on November 4th 2002 (the day prior to its release) was that of excitement. Finally, getting to hear it, knowing what it was all about. It all made sense. Some people turned on icp with this one, simply because the end wasn't "dark" enough for them. I bet they felt like a jackass when they released Hell's Pit. Every Joker's card represents an important part in a much larger story. In the end, it's about you and the afterlife and choosing your own path. If you can't respect that, you're not down. End of story. I feel, icp added the more rock feel to this one, to match the epic feel of the final chapter. This album is filled with song's about getting to the other side and trying not to get lost by temptation along the way and standing up for what is right. While still being filled with the awesome horrorcore rap that makes them Insane Clown Posse. I think Violent J said it best. "Every Joker's card is somebodies favorite. Which is enough to bring them all to life."

Walk into the Light - 5/5 Spoken word intro by Jumpsteady. Icp begins to explain their story here.

Welcome to the Show - 4/5 Every Joker's card has a song like this. A take no prisoners song full of attitude.

Get Ya Wicked On - 3.5/5 Good for what it is but way too short. Still good though. Shaggy has a great verse here.

Murder Rap - 6/5 My favorite song here. A tribute/cover to Above the Law. Except they add a great guitar riff and their own verses.

Birthday B*t*hes - 3.5/5 Reminds me alot of Get Ya Wicked On, Shaggy does most of the work here, with ABK in the background.

Blaaam!!! - 4.5/5 Great song, more storytelling by J. A guy finds a lamp that gives him all he wants but is it what he really needs?

It Rains Diamons - 5/5 One of the most emotional songs here. If I had to use one song to represent this album, this would be it.

The Staleness - 4/5 Horrorcore. End of story. J's verse is pretty funny. Spoken word outro by Esham.

Hell's Forest - 4.5/5 The song with the most horror here. J give's us a sneak peak of Hell's Pit. Only on this song though. Spoken word intro by Esham.

Juggalo Homies - 5/5 After one of the saddest songs, here we have one of the happiest. Great verses by all. Featuring Twiztid and ABK

Ain't Yo Bidness - 4.5/5 A song with icp attitude. Great use of the violin here.

We Belong - 4/5 Short rock type song here. Definetly a positive one.

Cotton Candy & Popsicles - 4/5 Classic cheap dirty icp sex song. Featuring Zug Izland. Has some ABK in the background. Cool chorus.

Crossing Thy Bridge - 5/5 Reminds me of It Rains Diamond's. One of the most important song's here.

The Raven's Mirror - 4.5/5 More classic horrorcore. J has a pretty dark verse.

The Wraith - 6/5 Tied for my favorite. I love this song and the most important one here(Along with The Unveiling). The story behind the final joker's card is revealed. Now, there is only one more thing to reveal......

The Unveiling - 6/5 Another incredible song. The story and it's secret's are told. Has clips from past Insane Clown Posse album's. One of the most important song's of their career.

Another thing, the track listing is wrong here. For most of you, here is the track listing for Insane Clown Posse's The Wraith: Shangri-La

1. Walk Into the Light

2. Welcome To The Show

3. Get Your Wicked On

4. Murder Rap

5. Birthday [...]

6. Blaaam!

7. It Rains Diamonds

8. The Staleness

9. Hell's Forecast

10. Juggalo Homies

11. Ain't Yo Bidness

12. We Belong

13. Cotton Candy & Popsicles

14. Crossing The Bridge

15. The Raven's Mirror

16. The Wraith

I recommend this for juggalo's, people wanting to know about Insane Clown Posse and pretty much anybody with an open mind. MMFCL. Enjoy.

- Something Completely Different

Wow... This Album has some wierd kind of magic that takes hold of you the moment you pop the cd into your cd player. This CD distinguishes the difference between someone who likes ICP and a JUGGALO. a friend of mine bought the cd with me the day it came out, when we heard it all, all he said was that was pretty weak. he complained about it being too short (only 65 min.), and all the tracks sound the same. ill tell you as i was listening to the cd, i felt more pure than when i was a child. Tracks like; The Wraith, it rains Diamonds, the Unveiling, Crossing the Bridge, Juggalo homies, and hell's Forecast are so powerful that it scares me to think that they can convey such a positive message. all of this positiveness is ofcourse packed with some wicked [stuff] like Murder rap and get your wicked on. if there is anyone who calls themselves a Juggalo, buy this cd. not because its the 6th joker's card but because after listening to the whole cd, you will know if you really are a juggalo. a tip to those who will buy this: listen to the tracks in order and read the booklet( all of it). Wow

- The Best Jokers Card

The 6th Jokers Card is either loved or hated by Juggalos, but to me it is right up there with the Great Milenko album

Walk Into The Light: Great opening track with a catchy chorus, they are talking what life is like for them now. 5/5

Welcome To The Show: Another tight track, with some nifty lyrics. 5/5

Get Ya Wicked On: Love this song, the beat is wicked and lyrics are traditional ICP, problem is it only lasts 1.47. 5/5

Murder Rap: This is a cover of Above The Law version but with ICP changing lyrics around here and there, lots of guitar here. 5/5

Birthday Bit*hes: Shaggy raps mostly here in a short track, its funny. 3/5

Blaaam!: Storytime as J gets all the things he wants in life. 5/5

It Rains Diamonds/Bi*ch Slappa: Good track with more guitars with a good chorus, but it leads in to Bi*ch Slappa with Blaze and this song is a cover of NWA'S Compton In The House and the song is great, turn the bass up. 5/5 for the whole thing.

The Staleness: We start here with a woman calling the police telling them their is some clowns at her door destroying property, well that is from b movie classic Killer Clowns From Outer Space, the song is another good one with decent raps from J and Shaggs, but at the end when they chant 'Am So Sorry Am So Stale' it goes on for far too long and gets boring. 4/5

Hells Forecast: Here is preview of Hells Pit, it is the most evil song on the album, not a good track or a bad one tho. 3/5

Juggalo Homies: Classic track, this song will make you happy, it also features Twiztid on here, its about how friends are important, a video was made for this and was played on the radio. 5/5

Aint Yo Bidness/Soopa Villans: The first song is great , J is great on here, but the song Soopa Villans featuring Esham is even betta, a really fastly rapped song by J and Esham. 5/5 for both.

We Belong: Shaggy on here mostly, beat is terrible, but lyrics make up for it. 3/5

Cotton Candy And Popsicles: This song is terrible, i dont want to talk about it, worst song on album. 1/5

Crossing Thy Bridge: A rock song, some may like some may not, me i think it is good. 4/5

The Ravens Mirror: Shaggy goin lyric crazy first in what seems a fun song then you hear a big glass shatter then the song turns to a dark beat with J rapping about being dead. 5/5

The Wraith: Rock Song, good track. 4/5

Thy Unveiling: A long track telling you what ICP were all about over the years, alot of Juggalos hated ICP for this track, but the message is something they said they would never rap about, but was all over the other albums secretly. Great track. 5/5

Overall: It depends on your opinion, i think this album is awesome and deserves to be in your collection.

- The End Of One Era, And The Beginning Of Another

The Six Joker Cards Are About Shangri-La And The Crumbling Of Time, And The Dark Carnival Represents Heaven. So If The Joker Cards were Heaven (or Shangri-la) As Told On The Unveiling. A New Era Must Begin as We Know From The Line On "Welcome To The Show": "But If You Really Want To hear The Devils Exhibit The Sh*t Is Called Hell's Pit Run Out And Get It" And If You Read The Lyrics On Hell's Forcast You Know That The Next Era Is "Hells Pit" Which Is Supposedly Going to be there darkest album to date. This is pure Genious On I.C.P.'s Part. If You Listen Close To Some of The Songs And Block out the Juggalos, Faygo, And Clowns (But why would you want to) Its All The secrets are there.
