- 2 words:Slackn' Groove
I picked this up after a friend told me I should get it since I thought that Philadolphonic was a bit disapointing(with the exception of Numbers, which is a great song). Figuring I wasn't getting anything "special" I plopped down the money and bought the CD. Low and behold, it is now one of the most charished CDs I own.
The first thing I love about this CD is the vibe! The whole CD reflects a very relaxed and laid back band. While the music isn't quite as tight as some bands because of this, the sloppy blues, groove, hip-hop all works so well together. Another thing that helps that is melody and harmony. The band's ability to play of each other shows up in every song. The background vocals excentuate Garret's deep, low voice. The end result are songs with more soul than most pop-soul acts these days. The drums keep the pace moving. The harmonica adds a nice touch to the band's laid back blues sound. The up-right bass is also just right.
Everthing about this album just feels so right. I never though any band could create a CD that actually discribes my attitude in life, G. Love and Special Sauce have managed to do it. The slackn' grooves are just what need when I need something to sit back and relax to(sorry but it's hard to do that to the new Sevendust album). If I have one complaint about this CD is that it drags in some places. Pull the Wool could have been 3 minutes shorter and still have the same effect. Otherwise this is the perfect CD to grab cooler full of some good beverages and kick the feet up and feel the music. Great stuff.

- classic g.love
This is a classic GLASS album... I've been a fan since the beginning and I truly think it was their first AMAZING album. Their self-titled debut album is great, while their sophomore album (Coast to Coast Motel) was very much lacking.
This album, their third, is a serious break-out hit. I definitely think that this album and their next (Philadelphonic) are their two best... with their debut as a close third.
You can't help but groove and sing along to the first song- "Stepping Stones" or want to jam out to the hiphop-infused second song "I-76." "Slipped Away" is a great sad song, while "When We Meet Again" is one of those songs that just automatically brings up old memories of long-lost friends and your teenage/college years. When the album came out, I had just started high school and listening back to that song brings up so many memories.
Anyway- this album is already a classic, so I definitely recommend a listen- it won't hurt! And odds are that you'll enjoy it.

- G. Love Succeeds Where Others Fail
I've been hearing comparisons of G. Love and the Special Sauce to Beck and I'd like to dispute them. Whether you like Beck or not, check this guy out, for he can do hip hop like few other white guys I've heard. He can be compared to the Roots perhaps for the use of traditional instruments, but even that's a stretch. One can never go wrong with the strong rhythms, semi-catchy riffs, and truly original lyrics G. Love brings to the table. Be sure to check out their more raw debut album which I prefer.
- Get This CD, It's That Easy
G. Love & Special Sauce came back with an attack with this CD. This album probably helped draw in a wider variety of listeners. The sound makes you wanna sit back and chill. There are alot of songs that have a real feel and can get the listener hooked really quickly. The CD shoots some life back where "Coast to Coast Motel" left a void. I had to get used to the newer style of music on this CD (the blues tunes have been cut back somewhat and a new flavor entered). My fav tracks are "I-76", "200 Years", "Stepping Stones", and "Stepping Stones". This particular album has also helped introduce the upcoming band "Princes of Babylon. I recommend anyone to get this CD, this has probably got to be my favorite G. Love album, a slight cut above Philadelphonic and Self-Titled. Peace & One Love.
