I saw this in the store the other day and had to buy it. The Clark Kent Remix of "Ready Or Not" is arguably the best Fugees remix ever. It includes some new rhymes from everybody, and beautiful harmonies from Lauryn Hill. The unreleased song, "Don't Cry, Dry Your Eyes", is very good with some of the best rhymes. The "No Woman, No Cry" Remix, featuring Steve Marley is great, too. Everything else on this EP is great, too. Except for the really lame Mad Spider Mix of "Nappy Heads." It's built for those who love base and have the equipment to support it. TRACK 8 is an absolut bust out and has urged my repeat button several times. "NO WOMAN NO CRY" is the best addition I've heard; where else do you get the son of a legend singing next to a rap alstar. BUSTA RHYMES track 2 is quick and among his best. All of the "READY OR NOT!" editions are unique and illustrate completely independent and interesting sound techniques. Probably the only loser on the album is the "KILLING ME SOFTLY", but if you buy this to here Lauryn sing you're missing the concept of the album. This is purely a FUGEE'S RAP special, not a Lauryn hill sing-a-long. Enjoy! I personaly like "Don't Cry Dry Your Eyes" the best. I also liked "Nappy Heads" quite a bit. Some of the songs I just plain did not like were "Woman No Cry" and the second version of "Ready Or Not" on the cd. |
