Hey, this groups rocks. They've really captured that great crossover between hip hop with pop hooks. I've been a collector of international hip hop for a few years now - since happening upon a MC Solaar video in France years ago. Fettes Brot certainly takes it to a new level. Where Die Fantastischen Vier can achieve ueber cheese at times, that's been left out of this recipe. If you've got ..., I highly recommend this disc, or check the amazon.de site where it's probably cheaper and more available.

As a side note, their single from this cd, "Viele Wege fuehren nach Rom" is terribly catchy and even though you may not understand what they are singing, you will be singing it non-stop!

- Tons O' Fun

I hope I don't get slammed for this comparison, but I liken Fettes Brot to the Beastie Boys; they aren't melodically gifted, their true talent lies in the way the present themselves. A lot of silliness goes into their music, giving them that "cool guys I'd like to just sit around and chill with" vibe. Not chilling as in, kicking back with a beer and talking, but chilling as in watching the "Real World" to talk about how pathetic the castmembers are while having wrestling matches in the center of the living room. My favorite tracks on this album are "Spiderman und Ich" and "Lieblingsleid."

I don't like MANY bands, but when I find one I like, I absolutely cannot stop listening to it. Fettes Brot is one of them. I absolutely love how the music is put together, the stories the lyrics tell, and over all just the entire package. DEFINITELY an EXCELLENT investment!

(with German being my 2nd language, I understand the lyrics and LOVE them ....but I'm sure even if you don't understand a word of German, this music will still hit you hard! --plus, it'll make you WANT to learn.)

- fettes brot is really good

Fettes Brot has something , but I can't put my finger on it. I am not a big fan of hip-hop yet I enjoy listening to these guys for hours. They first caught my attention when i first moved to Germany. As I gradually learned the language I began to like them more and more. When I moved back over here to the states, I relized how well they're lyrics were compared to any of the U.S. songs, hip-hop or not. But it is more than just that. The sound of their voices combined with their beats just make you want you want to bob your head to the music and listen to it over and over again. And unlike any other group or band I have ever heard I never seem to get tired of their songs. I definitly reccommend this album.

- Great Hip Hop - both in terms of music and lyrics

The reviews of Americans who do not understand many of the lyrics of this record are proof enough: This CD by Fettes Brot works even if you don't understand what they are singing. But I can tell you: The great music on this record is even being topped by the meaning of the lyrics. I always envy Americans for understanding English Pop/Rock lyrics better than a German can do - no matter how long he has learned the foreign language at school or University. But in this case, I am happy to understand both music and words of such great pieces as "Viele Wege führen nach Rom" and "Spider Man". But, as I said: You can feel just from listening to the music, what kind of love song "Rom" is.
