- record breakin news
the words "almost famous" would best describe e-40, the chunnky 4-eyed rapper. for the past 10 years he has been putting out record after record, solo and with his clique the click (no pun intended) to generate little sales. well that was then. recently, vallejo, california's big baller has hit us with his ninth album "breaking news". the difference: it will go platinum. "why?" you might ask. just listen to it! this is the hottest 40-water material i've heard since '96's "hall of game". back with the clique, and a few dirty south guests, earl stevens uses his expected off the wall slang to spit to the hood. the title track starts off the album with a hot keyboard induced beat and a reggae singer to get the party started. the next track, "hot" hits a nice 85* temperature with e using his original lingo. other songs like "got dat work", "married to the ave", "this goes out" and "show and prove" really prove this man's individuality through beats and rhymes and his street credibility. but the 3 best songs on the cd have to be the ultimate club song "anybody can get it", the clipse feature "quarterbackin", and the woman-seducing "one night stand". the only real reason i didn't give this album a 5 is because the last few tracks are pretty lackluster and 40 uses too many guests. but, overall, e-40 impressed me with this album. his lyrics and beats are definately above .500 on this one and i feel that it has potential for a platinum plaque. holding it down for northern califoolya tha mane e-40.

He is the only artist besides OUTKAST of course that I will never download from the internet he deserves to be on the top of everychart. - 40-water foshiggidy fan
"Quarterbackin", "Gasoline", and that song with Messy Marv and San Quinn are the best!!!! Get the album and if you have not seen their movie "Obstacles", go rent that as well. E-40 had me laughing on this cd. ....I'm bald headed, but I used to have a lord jesus perm!!! If you have the album, you will remember where that line came from. this cd is strictly for e-40 fans from the beginning like me

E-40 does not disapoint. He's the man mack dammit. For those who don't know - this is the man that has INVENTED popin yo colla, for sheezy (popularized by Snoop Dogg), player hatin and countless other hip hop terms. Without gettin any credit!
This is the secound albumn of a relativly new trend of rap for 40 Water. His new production team, The Pharmaciticles, are RAW - giving him a more clubbish/current sound thant contends with anything by the Neptunes. Although I liked "Grit & Grind" better than this new one, it's just because I'm a fan of the older 40 albums. I think Grit & Grind is the perfect blend of his old and new sounds.
For all you hard core 40 fans, this is something new. There are NO tracks with Too $hort or Ant Banks. And 40 only has ONE song with other YAY AREA rappers, which is star-studded but disapointing "Northern Califoolya"- Messy Marve, San Quinn, EA Ski, Keak Da Sneak & B-Legit. The new sound even has a song with voice samples sounding like a rockafella song.
The hottest tracks are the singles, "Gasoline", "One Night Stand", "Quarterbackin", and the new bagger "Anybody can get it" with Lil' Jon, Bone Crusher & David Banner. "This Goes Out", "Married To The Ave" & "Show and Prove" are also great songs.
E-40 fans need this, it's worth the cash. If your new to 40, get "Grit & Grind", or his best albumn "Game Related" (by his group The Click.)If you like that get "Loyalty and Betrayal" & "The Hall of Game" for the true 40 experience
- WHY NOT? I'M HIS BIGGEST FAN!
WHATUPPER? ALL E-40 CD'S MAKE ME PROUD! HE RAPS ALOT OF REAL LIFE BAY AREA LYRICS THAT ONLY WEST COAST MEMBERS KNOW ABOUT!
