<p>The presence of Eminem as executive producer, co-writer, and designated white guy, guarantees a considerable amount of attention for hip-hop group D12. Fortunately for Eminem fans, their hero's talents are not squandered on DEVIL'S NIGHT. D12 is presumably a reference to the fact that Mr. Slim Shady moved to Detroit when he was twelve years old, and the same hardcore urban style that informs his own work is a major factor on this group effort. While it's Eminem's starpower that's given D12 a wide audience, this an entirely collective endeavor; each of the rappers in D12 gets an equal amount of time in the spotlight. In this respect, the situation is not unlike that of Nelly's work with St. Lunatics. As the opening tongue-in-cheek disclaimer notes, this album is full of the potentially offensive terms and subjects that made Eminem so controversial, and the album's emotional centerpiece "American Psycho" is a journey into a psyche as deep and dark as any on THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP. Nevertheless, the other members of D12 contribute enough of their own personality to DEVIL'S NIGHT to keep it from being just a busman's holiday.

- original sounding cd in a sea of sound alike cds
finally a rap cd that not only has impressive beats but equally impressive lyrics to match it seems a lot of rap these days is just one rich star after another bragging about how maany bentleys or rolls he has or how much cristal he has ingested this album is a 360 degree turnaround from that which i give much praise to d-12 and eminem

- This cd is awsome
This is just basically another eminem album but with his buddies along with him. They are less talented than him but still are decent rappers. This cd is very good and it is the best purchase you will make all summer. Even if u dont like Eminem u will like it because he sits back enough on the album to where he lets the rest of his group take control. Plus if u have a system this is a good cd to have. Here are each track reviewed:
1. Another Publice Sefvice Announcement- Um its a stupid skit that is funny at first but after a while u will skip over it.
2.Sh*t Can Happen-Is a pretty good song, the chorus is kinda corny though.
3.Pistol Pistol-Is an excellent song.
4.Bizzare-Is a very funny skit.
5.Nasty Mind-Is a hilarious song and good to pump to.
6.Ain't Nuthin But Music-Is a pretty good song.
7.American Phsyco-Is an awsome but weird song.
8.Thats How-Stupid.
9.Thats How-It is a pretty good song and it is good to bump to.
10.Purple Pills-Awsome song. I never get tired of it. It is one of the albums best tracks.
11.Fight Music-Awsome song. One of the albums best songs.
12.Instigator-It is an alright song. It needs Em in it though.
13.Pimp Like Me-The best song out of the whole cd. It is hilarious and has good lyric moments.
14.Blow My Buzz-Awsome song. It has a tight beat too.
15.Obe Trice-Dumb.
16.Devils Night-Pretty good song. It has a dark anthem to it.
17.Steve Berman-Funny.
18.Revelation-I think this is the most shocking song on the record. It is a very good song too. One of the best on the album.
19.Girls-Um its pretty good but its over long and even though it only has Eminem on it, its just a diss and u usually can sing along to disses.

- The best rap album of the year
Well, Em & Co have done it again. D-12's "Devil's Night" is beautifully constructed melange of eclectic beats, outrageous lyrics, and biting satire. While Em sprouts off his usual brilliant rants, the rest of the crew compliments him perfectly with their own, hillarious rhymes. Be warned: the underlying critique of modern media and illustration of teenage angst are immersed in a veritable swamp of profanity, sexually-deviant references, and violent lyrics. Nevertheless, the album's brilliance lies in its versatility. Take it as a social critique, or use it for a laugh. The drug-anthem "Purple Pills" will "lift" your spirits, and the heart-wrenching, head-banging "Revelation" takes a sobering look into the mind of a suicidal teen. But while the tracks are varied, there is one consistency: the rap is dope.

- THE NEXT LEVEL
Anyone who enjoyed Eminem's albums should pick up "Devil's Night" by D12. The lyricist's original "posse" releases their first full-length LP, and it delivers. Tight production by Dre and Eminem himself raise this album above any mediocrity. D-12 are just as obscene and surprising as MarshallMathers himself, constantly shocking with their lyrics (and offending anyone who takes them seriously). Peter S. Bizarre is a twisted mind if I ever heard one. Anyone who talks about eating an abortion, picking up transvestites, or pimping their mother is definitely out there to shock. The album is essentially "Marshall Mathers LP II" one may say, with some common threads running between them...."Ain't Nuthin But Music" is basically "The Real Slim Shady 2" complete with an almost exactly similar beat, catchy rhymes, and Bizarre echoing Eminem's famous line by saying "Eminem don't like *NSync, well I do. So ... him, and the Backstreet Boys too." The song "Pimp Like Me" has a beat that sounds strangely similar to "Forgot About Dre." And, in addition, the Public Service Announcement and Steve Berman skits from Eminem's album are back. D-12 may not sell as many records as Eminem The Solo Artist, but they damn well should.

- Awesome Stuff Buy it!
This Is my favorite album that I have ever bought! You should buy it right away. I first bought it for Purple Pills and I wasn't disapointed. Almost every song is good and I will rate every song on this album, not skits. A 5 is average.
Shit Can Happen- OK the first time but gets old. 6/10
Pistol Pistol- Excellent song that will keep you listening. 9/10
Nasty Mind- Hilarious. Bizarre and D12 at their funniest. 10/10
Ain't Nuttin But Music- Pretty funny, but gets old and doesn't compare in humor to Nasty Mind. 7/10
American Psycho- Very good. Has a nice mix of serious and funny parts. But mostly funny. 9/10
That's how...- Very Very good. A different type of song for a change. Kind of has a cause/effect theme to it. 10/10
Purple Pills- Very good but definitely overplayed. 8/10
Fight Music- Very Cool. It has good lyrics and a smooth beat. Cool topic too. 9/10
Instigator- Swifty's in charge here. Very cool also but is lacking something. 9/10
Pimp Like Me- This is it. The longest track on the cd, and definitely the best. It is my absolute favorite song ever. Can never get old. Just the first minute is D12 at its best, and it doesn't get worse. If you are thinking about buying this album, do it for this track. This song is beyond perfect. 11/10
Blow My Buzz- Very cool song. It has excellent lyrics and will keep you pumped after Pimp Like Me. 10/10
Devil's Night- If you haven't noticed, the songs from 13 on are the album's best. This is excellent and has great "re-listen" value. 10/10
Revelation- My second favorite song on the cd. Leave it to Bizarre to start off this almost-as-good-as-Pimp-Like-me song. But unlike Pimp Like Me it slows down a tiny bit after the start.
Girls- A very Offensive song. But it is very good. If you hate Limp Bizkit, you'll love this song. But if you like Limp Bizkit,
Now I'll rate the members of D12
Proof- He is good but a little too quiet. He should stand out more. 8/10
Eminem- You've all heard him before. But the reason this is one of the best albums ever is not all him. 9/10
Bizarre- The funniest person ever. Although I don't think his dignity is very good, he should be the next Chris Rock. 11/10
Kon Artis- At parts he stands out a lot, but sometimes he acts too similar to Proof. 9/10
Swifty- This guy is a true rapper. He raps at perfect speed, with the beat at all times. 10/10
Kuniva- He is very cool. Very often, he will sound like the most intelligent member of the group. And is funny when he lectures to Kon Artis in Purple Pills and Blow My Buzz. 10/10
There you have it. D12 is my new favorite group, so go do yourself a favor and buy their album.
