- Excellent for casual fans looking for his signature songs--
Also, for people looking for a sampling of 90's crossover rap-- despite the gangsta-heavy themes, Coolio seemingly had no problems with making it onto radio and video rotations, and his real-life persona was always inviting and articulate-- unlike some of his peers who felt like they had to live up to a thuggish image, Coolio thankfully avoided, for the most part, any major run-ins with the law after his career took off.. Since then, though, he's severed his ties with Tommy Boy-- which is why this compilation is receiving a "quiet" release-- and Coolio runs his own indie label where he plans to release a new album stateside (it's already out overseas). ...
- This CD Bring's Back Great Memories...ahhh the 1990's!
This CD has all of Coolio's biggest hits. I remember when "Gangsta's Paradise" first came out in 1995. It received a lot of airplay on the radio. "C U When You Get There" was featured on the Nothing to Lose Soundtrack...1997. And finally, "Aw, Here It Goes" was Kenan and Kel's theme song (back when Nickelodeon had decent enough shows). All I have to say is, if I could go back in time with thest songs, I would.
