- He Made Sure Everything Remains RAW! (Rating: 8 out of 10- -4.0 stars)

If I had as much knowledge of rap music back in '93/'94 as I do now, It wouldn't surprise me if Busta Rhymes was going to end up having a solo career after the Leaders of a New School group was falling apart. His voice and delivery was very unique and creative, as shown on

and on various ATCQ tracks. Each track here on his debut has a lot of energy and his vocals are in full force, great for any fans, from the lead single "Everything Remains Raw", and all throughout.

Deeper in the album, there are many great tracks here to enjoy. One of his most recognizable singles is "Woo Ha!! Got You All In Check". Busta and his younger cousin, also a member his new group (at the time) Flipmode Squad, Rampage go back and forth on "Abandon Ship" which is surprisingly good. "It's A Party" featuring Zhane has a nice vibe. Q-Tip drops a nice verse along with Busta on "Ill Vibe". My favorite colab track is the eight minute "Flipmode Meets Def Squad" with Jamal, Redman, Keith Murray, Rampage, and Lord Have Mercy. Each verse is straight A game, and the beat is dope too. "Keep It Movin'" is the very last Leaders Of A New School song we'll hear (and I doubt that it was newly recorded). After the good "The Finish Line", Busta closes out the "Outro" with his infamous countdown to the year 2000.

Some of the tracks were not favorites of mine like "Hot Fudge", but overall the album is excellent. Busta will follow up with

, with much more great singles. The Coming is an easy purchase for many fans who want to remember Busta's old fast and gritty rhyme style. The production and the guests here all match up with Busta. Definitely worth owning. Peace.

This was when Busta Rhymes was good, now he's trash but he truly has skills as an artist. His best work yet, and he will never achieve the greatness presented by this album again.

- The Most Powerful Event

The debut of Busta Rhymes as a solo artist from Leaders Of The New School with The Coming. Prior to this release, he's no stranger to the game with two albums under his belt. Before platinum status, the jewelry it was about lyrics as this album is a rare on the market. Titles like "Do My Thang" and "Everything Remains Raw" proves that the mentality of this project. "Abandon Ship" featuring cousin, Rampage the Last Boy Scout, as they trade microphone time over the organ laced track. The signature yelling over "Woo Hah!! Got You All In Check" featuring Rampage displays his character and individuality as Busta flows each verse with the same rhyme syllable. The slow bass-driven "Hot Fudge" has him scatting over organs as a bridge is just as the hook says, "...good Lord..." The continuous kick of "Ill Vibe" featuring Q-Tip as they merely conversed as the hook was gook enough being simple as it is. Busta took control of the situation by featuring ex-group Leaders Of The New School on "Keep It Movin'" and got on track for his future with his new crew, Flipmode Squad on "Flipmode Squad Meets Def Squad". This album should have been used as a stepping stone, but as money brainwashed the industry affected Busta as well. This is only a step away from having five stars, but it's a classic for what it is. The Coming!
