Busta Rhymes Album: “The Big Bang [Edited]”

Busta Rhymes Album: “The Big Bang [Edited]”
Description :
Personnel include: Busta Rhymes (rap vocals); Missy Elliott, Q-Tip (rap vocals); Kelis, Nas, Raekwon, Rick James, Stevie Wonder, Swizz Beatz, Will.i.am.
Recording information: Spiral Recording, Hollywood, CA.
While his output has been less than consistent, Busta Rhymes has always been one of the most distinctive and entertaining rappers in hip-hop. THE BIG BANG (2006) found Busta evolving as a stylist and a rhymesayer, slowing down his patented breakneck flow a bit while losing none of his agility, complexity, or precision. He also expanded the range of his narratives to include more introspective writing, though he still rocks a party on club tracks like "Touch It."
But the most notable thing here is the production. With the legendary Dr. Dre at the boards, THE BIG BANG boasts some of Busta's sharpest tracks, packing an overall sonic wallop that will leave listeners reeling. Also impressive is the guest list, which includes not only top-tier rap royalty (Nas, Raekwon, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott), but R&B icons Rick James and Stevie Wonder to boot. If it isn't the masterpiece fans were waiting for, THE BIG BANG still has plenty of dynamite production and rhyming to offer.

- His best one yet!

I LOVE Busta! Been following his flow since LONS! He REALLY makes a great CD here! I love the whole thing...but these are my highlights: #3 (HOW WE DO IT OVER HERE) with Missy Elliot is a real club banger! #4 NEW YORK SH** (with Swizz Beatz) takes me to NY (where I am originally from) everytime. #5 BEEN THROUGH THE STORM (with Stevie Wonder) is hot! I am a Rick James freak, so when I first heard #6 IN THE GHETTO one weekend in NY, I almost lost my natural mind! It samples Rick's first verse and chorus (featuring the Mary Jane Girls) GHETTO LIFE from his 1981 LP STREET SONGS so beautifully and Busta gave him FULL credit on this track! And at the end features Rick's excerpt of the speech he did on BET ("I'm Rick James"). BRILLIANT! #13 GET DOWN reminds me of TAKE IT OFF from 1998's EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT CD. #14 I'LL DO IT ALL (with LaToiya Williams) had me goin' WOW! The flute part is crazy hot...reminds me of being in Tokyo behind a rice screen.

Overall, Busta never disappoints! His first CD for Aftermath...too DANG good! Got the edited version so that my little girl can listen to it too!

- I wrote my, review 4 the Explicit one, but they didnt show it, so.

I Thoght it was gonna be a big bang but, its still worth listening 2. Big Bang is what its titled, but the cd as a whole is not big or bangin, i mean it has its cuts but at times it seems like they made tracks that would be catchy, mainstreamish, instead of classic. i also think they fucced up promoting the album, first by puting [touch it] as the first single(its all right, but not classic),then they randomly make a remix, witch is more mainstream(and they dont even put on the album). then he put's out [i love my b*tch]why is the main question, its a good track but not classic. he should have made a video out of In The Ghetto (Feat. Rick James) and at the end have a R.I.P. 4 the man(cuz that was classic, at least in my mind). Get U Some was a good way 2 poen the cd, but it kinda-of lowers the value of the rest of the cd, cuz when u hear it u excpect the rest of the cd 2 match it, but some songs dont(Good Lyrics/Great Beat). Money [Feat. O.D.B.] definetly should have been on the cd, same thing with I Know Y'All Mad [Feat. Mike Jones].Cocaina (Feat. Marsha Of Floetry) was a real good track, i like the beat, and Busta rolls over it with some creative lyrics. You Can't Hold A Torch (Feat. Q-Tip & Chauncey Black)is a classic, i cant tell u why, but everything about matches, like how they sample Jay-Z. [I'll Do It All] Really thought this was way better then that i love my chick, the lyrics are real good, BUT THE BEAT IZ CRAZY, but Latoya makes it classic. Legend Of The Fall Offs was a Really good song, like the diggin, spooky part is not when the guy talks but more when the lady says "do u ever think, what life would be, where u will go, after u die, real grimy, classic. I think it needed a neptune beat, and i have a feeling that he will, OR SHOULD(HOPE HE WILL) come out with a re-release, and put songs that didnt make the cut, also have some tracks he can make after the big bang was out. the other songs out here where all right, but NY, NY is aight, but im from Cali (not hatein, just cant feel, or bang it) its good though. overall i did come across some real good trackss, but i had my expectation's kinda high, so i give it a 4.4 out of 5.0.
