<p>Athens, Georgia's first superstar MC, Bubba Sparxxx, returns with this highly impressive offering. Under the guidance of producer/mentor Timbaland, Bubba's follow-up to 2001's DARK DAYS, BRIGHT NIGHTS finds the white rapper elevating his game to a whole new level. While this can most obviously be attributed to Timbaland's stunningly inventive fusion of country and hip-hop, credit also goes out to Bubba himself. Focusing on more sobering subject matter, Bubba proves that an MC can be frank and honest yet still maintain an air of hardness. "Comin' Round," "She Tried," and "Deliverance" find Bubba exploring matters of lower-class conflict, including fatherhood and lost love. Outkast collaborators Organized Noize provide electrifying backup tracks on "New South" and "Back in the Mud," two anthems that showcase Bubba's ability to speak for an entire culture. With such strong performances by Bubba and Timbaland, DELIVERANCE is a work of two artists at their musical prime. A new South, indeed.

- 4 1/2 stars, really, really good cd period.
First off, Im from a chicago suburb so thats how good this cd is for me to give it this star rating. The rap around here compared to souther rap is like comparing apples and oranges. Im not that much of a fan for southern rap but bubba sparxx on deliverance exceeded all expectations. I havn't heard his first cd expect for ugly which I didnt really like to begin with. My friend picked up this cd and I was skeptical at first but this cd is so smooth and fresh it was probaly the the best cd I heard all year. This cd had everyting, good drinknig songs, good anthem songs, and good personal laid back chill songs. you can defineataly play the whole cd without skipping a song. My fav songs r jimmy mathis, comn round, nowhere, warrant and deliverance. This cd has no bad songs to skip through no joke. about 3 are ok but no bad ones. Bubba gives his all on this cd from his awesome party anthems to his deep, personal childhood songs, I dont know how his nxt cd can top this 1, his career best no doubt, pick up this cd no matter where you live.

- Bubba DELIVERs the goods!!!!
This is the album that the potential he showed on the first album promised. Whereas on his debut, sometimes Bubba's delivered was abit lacklustre in places, he defiantly glides across every track with the ease+confidence of a seasoned mc. His laid back rhyme style sounds absolutely sublime over Timbaland's funky soundscapes. With Timbaland handling virtually all the production bar 2 or 3 tracks,(courtesy of Organised Noize) the album bumps along brilliantly from start to finish. From the head nodding "jimmy mathis", "comin' round", "take a load off", "like it or not" and "disappear" to the mellow soulful tracks like "she tried", "nowhere" and "hootnanny" to the anthemic "deliverence" its an absolute triumph. The real gems here are Bubba's honest+sparkling flow and Timbaland's best work for ages both on show. Just awesome!!

- Buy This!
I thought Bubba's "Dark Days, Bright Nights" was good, tho some people may disagree, but this CD surpasses DDBN by alot. His lyrics are deeper, and his sound is even more country this time around. This CD is definitely from the south and Bubba disperses the southern feel. If you happened to like the single "Deliverance" like I did and decide to check out the CD, you'll be thoroughly surprised. DDBN beat production was done by Timbaland of course and Deliverance has even better production from Timba and Organized Noize. I would say that my fav songs are "Deliverance", "Nowhere", "She Tried" and "Jimmy Mathis". "Nowhere" and "She Tried" bring in country singing for the chorus, and I'm not really a fan of country but it makes the song even better. If you liked Bubba since "Ugly" or you like "Deliverance" give this CD a shot. This will be one of the sleeper hits for rap this year.

- Bubba Got Game
From "Take a Load Off" to "Deliverance", Bubba Sparxxx album Deliverance is one of the best albums I have ever listen to. Bubba Sparxxx is one of my favorite rappers, and to me, he raps and sounds like Big Boi from OutKast. So, if you want to get crunk on some Dirty South music, listen to Bubba. Deliverance is in stores now, and when you buy it,go home, take a load off and listen to his CD.

- A Ground-Breaking Album
(note: I agree with M. Argyrou, it definitely does seem Timbaland is putting more emotion into his work)
The surprise the listener experiences when they listen to this album for the first time is that most rare of joys in hip-hop music, awe and disbelief. There have been few songs that showcase musical genius, complexity and pain like "Nowhere". This song alone would warrant a purchase at the price Deliverance is selling for on Amazon. There is so, so much more here though.
"Jimmy Mathis" is a pleasant, bouncing song that sets the album up nicely for excellence. "Comin' Round" mixes bluegrass and hip-hop perfectly, a historic moment in hip-hop history. "Back In The Mud" is pure adrenaline, a frenetic rush. Multiple other songs are worthy of mention, all uniting together for a devastating sophomore effort that will be on "best of 2003 lists" for years to come.
Delieverance is a criminally slept-on album, and denying yourself a listen to it would be a terrible mistake.
