- What Has Happenned To Their Catalogue ?

For those of you who stumbled across this release while looking for either some silly rap guy or a terrible 80's new wave band, you've come to the wrong place. Bow Wow are/were the original pioneers of Japanese metal. Kioji Yamamoto is a brilliant guitarist who pre-dates and outdoes the overrated Eddie Van Halen's of the world, with way more style, feel and personality than any other modern hard rock guitarist can muster. Such a shame this is all that is apparently available. Bow Wow began in the mid-seventies, releasing a ton of hard to find import albums, and opening for touring acts like Aerosmith and Kiss in their own country and finally played at the Reading Festival in England in '82 to rave reviews. In '84 their name was changed to Vow Wow, to limit the name confusion with a certain terrible new wave act and to announce a new direction, with a keyboardist added that brought the group into Deep Purple like territory. In the 90's the name Bow Wow returned. Any of their classics should be picked up if found. This is apparently a collection with some older titles. Albums such as The Bow Wow, Signal Fire, Super Live,Asian Volcano, and Warning From Stardust are all worth checking out, if you ever see them again. It's a shame that such music has practically vanished. The group's composition and playing ability is very far ahead of most of the hard rockers of the same era.
