Bizzy Bone Album: “Alpha and Omega [PA]”

Bizzy Bone Album: “Alpha and Omega [PA]”
Description :
This release includes a bonus DVD featuring backstage, studio, interview footage.
Personnel: Bizzy Bone; Josiah Ben Rasu Thomas, Jaron Ben Rasu Thomas, Brian Parker, Hollis Jae, Kevin Rowe, Adrian Parlette (vocals).
Recording information: 2004.
Bizzy Bone has always displayed a knack for standing out in the crowd; as a member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, he was known for his otherworldly, quck-paced rapping style, and his penchant for trouble. Bizzy's problems have continually permeated his dramatic solo records, which paint peculiar pictures that walk the tightrope between the beautiful and the horrific.
On his third (released) record, ALPHA AND OMEGA, the Cleveland, OH performer observes how he "made it rapping about crack" and how he reads "many books to elevate [his] mind." These two statements represent Bizzy Bone remarkably well; he's a rapper full of contradictions. Bizzy dubbed his entourage "the 7th Sign Regime," an appellation that captures the apocalyptic feel of this record. ALPHA AND OMEGA conjures up a misty city alleyway full of dark corners and shadows, with Bizzy Bone hovering over the dead end--part-devil, part-angel, rapping (at times, nearly in tongues) over slow, sinister, creeping melodies.

- buy it for the lyrics not the beats

i would be lying my azz off if i said this album has good production.the truth of the matter is it doesn't.but thats not why i bought it i bought it because of his lyricisim which keeps improoving.if you judge albums soley by the production then skip this album, but your a fool if your gonna dissmiss it because of lousy production.thats what more or less happened with krayzie bones last solo cd thug on da line.

stand out tracks are murdah, better run better hide,i understand and i;m sure i'm forgetting more.

bottom line buy it for the lyrics.

- Bizzy is the best in the game

Music and everything else in life is presentation and content. Bizzy is the best rapper in the game because of the content he serves. Just like 2pac used to, Bizzy comes sincere. It's a shame that true emotions can fall on unrecognizing ears. Production could be improved, but when you're judging vehicles, sometimes the engine matters more than the body style.

Bizzy is one of the few rappers that actually grows as a person as he gets older. Because of this I can identify with him, and this makes him interesting as a person. Stay up Bryon.

As for delivery, Bizzy puts every rapper to ****ing shame, I have never heard anybody as on point as he is when he wants to be. Tech N9ne and Twista are good, but Bizzy is better. Period.

- Bizzy Who?

So the world has forgotten about Bizzy, hell, forgotten about Bone for that matter. While some of that can be blamed on their inability to release and album on time, or to get decent publicity and marketing for their work (blame Ruthless). I think the more important reason is that the intelligence level of the rap industry is being lowered more and more every day it seems. If a song isn't instructing the listener to "brush your shoulders off", or "lean back" or somehow making reference to a female's posterior, then it just wont sell. Bone hit the scene as revolutionaries in their craft, new styles, new flows, new ideas, and that worked for a while, until people decided they didn't want to think that much about their music. As a result we're drowning in shallow meaningless club rap. Songs that have the shelf life of a gallon of milk in the back end of my car mid-July. How many of Juvenile's juvenile songs do you see breaking records like "tha Crossroads" did?

Ranting aside, Bizzy seems to have released a very piculiar addition to his solo career (finally). Almost gone is his breakneck speed, and even the sing-song style from The Gift. I've attempted to keep up with all the news and rumors over the past 10 years, and from that I conclude this: Bizzy could make album after album of indecipherable words, get his messages lost, and be pigeonholed as a one-trick pony. From the time The Gift dropped until this albums release, it seems he's had more clutter of rumors and accusations around him than ever before. So perhaps it was time for him to clear his throat so to speak. Pick a style that was his rather than his past's, and just deliver everything from his mind and heart for his true fans to listen to and say...yeah, I can see where he's coming from. Critcs and music snobs be damned, this is a more modest Bizzy effort what what it lacks in glamour and style, it makes up for 10-fold in content.

- Album is Fire

I am a huge Bone Thug N Harmony fan and this guy can rap and write some deep lyrics and this release is his best but the production aint that great and it brings the cd down especially to people who like beats but the lyrics make up for it. Please buy this album cause u need to buy real rap and not commercial rap. This guy is a true hustler and doesn't talk about jewels and cars only stuff that happens on the street and he has been though it all. BUY THE ALBUM NOW

- Not the same Bizzy, But the same Bizzy

I have to give this CD 5 stars. Bizzy's style on this album is not his normal, mainly his tongue isn't rolling as fast on this album, but the lyrics, that's why I gave it 5 stars. Bizzy is probably the most popular member in Bone, if you know someone that doesn't listen to Bone, they normally know Bizzy over any other member and we all know the hype thats been surrounding Bizzy for the past couple of years, well, really since late 1996 for that matter, but with all that crap being said and written about him, he's still the same Bizzy on this album. My personal opinion on his "new" style is just that he's no longer the Lil' Ripsta, he's Bizzy The Kid, he's matured as a man and as an artist and all the hype has only made him stronger. He's not rapping as fast and he's not as harmonic on this album, which to some is a disapointment, but he lyrics are as real as ever, and I feel he's branching out as an artist and not as a member of Bone. I think this album will be more successful than his others for that reason, I think people will hear it and won't hear Bone Thugs, they'll hear Bizzy Bone as an artist.
