- AESOP DROPS ANOTHER WINNER
**Before reading this review you should know that I am a huge Aesop Rock fan and my be a little biased. Keep in mind i did my best to give a good representation of this particular work.** Aesop Rock' new ep "Day Light" is a great follow up of his "Labor Days" album. It shows his growth as an emcee and a producer. Block Head manages to take his own production up a knoch as well, yet holds onto that classic Aesop sound. Production on the ep also includes El Producto (company flow) and Blueprint (greenhouse effect). El p's beat on Nickle Plated Pockets is definetly dope ad adds a nice variety. El p is very good at making a beat that suits a rapper very well, and in this case he blends his own sound with Aesop's very well. Blueprint produces and rapps on "alchemy": this is probably my favorite song on the album. Aesop takes a chance and slows his flow down consierably, and nails it. The ep also includes "Maintainance" which was on the "coma" 12" and a secret song. I admit that Aesop is not for eveyone, but if you're diggin the whole Def Jux* scene than you will definitivly feel this ep.

- you owe it to yourself to buy this. really.
i agree that it's too short, but that doesn't take away from the total awesomeness of this record. aesop's lyrics are ridiculously good; it's like climbing into his head and experiencing his world, plus i love his voice. and i'm even kept interested by the instrumental tracks, which is rare. sadly, i lost my first copy, but this album is definitely worth buying again.

- See the light
Aesop Rock is underground like James Brown is soul. He's the rap of the dungeons,of the streets. That genius of Rock strikes back with a great EP.Ep that contains his best song,"Daylight",a mix of peace, music and knowledge, and the opposite side of "Daylight","Night Light".This song is the contrary of "Daylight",because the sound his very dark, black, obscurus. This is also the cause of the Def Jux fame. THIS IS THEIR TYPICAL SOUND,RAW!!!Great work, that continues with "Alchemy" (Fabolous,Blueprint rocks like nobody)and "Forest Crunk".This is Rap,so support it.

- Aesop Rock is blowin up, jump on the band wagon now!!!!
I cant believe how popular he is getting, but I think he deserves 100% of it. This CD is nearly flawless, get rid of the track with Blueprint (Alchemy) and this would be perfect. If you like Aesop buy this CD, its real good. The hidden track is a really emotional song, its a thank you to 4 of his friends who were there for him in his time of crisis. This is just a theory of mine, but the track might explain his recent lisp which was not present on Earthworms, think about it. Don't be stupid and wait untill this goes out of print get it now, I got Deep Puddle Dynamics a year ago and its already out of print ...

- ive owned this cd for a long time and i still listen to it
aesop is a great artist, and with the edition of this ep, which has the daylight/nightlight idea, forest crunk, nickle platted pockets, and the hidden track which was originally made for his family, he delivers a package that is an explosive stick of tnt in cd format, i wish some day to own this on vinyl so i can dj this explosive, extremly entertaining ep
